Crumbling yellow lines

Have you noticed all the yellow lines are crumbling and there are bits of yellow line everywhere. You would think they could find something that didn't crumble. It is often when they have gone over existing yellow line. To me its just unsightly.

Re: I Want A Wood Burner

I have a wood burning stove in my workshop and I am a full time wood worker. It irks me when I see wood that could be used by cabinet makers, woodturners, woodcarvers and a whole range of other craftsman going up in smoke in wood. The demand for firewood makes nice quality hardwood like oak, beech, ...

Re: Too many trees.

There are too many trees in the wrong places and too many trees which are felled unncesessarily. A pet hate is chipping machines which turn the countrysife into a very bland parks and gardens landscape. You will often see 3 workers putting branches into these machings which are poluting the environm...

I used to be a tree nurseryman and we used to grow acres of them but that tree nursery is now a golf course and hence many more trees are having to be imported in containers and a lot of these imports are out of control or bringing in all sorts of pests and diseases.

Your DIY efforts

I put up a sliding door in a bedroom. It seems to work very well but was very fiddly. The door cost £15.00 from B & Q and the sliding mechanism was £20.00. I do bits of plastering, woodwork, putting up kitchen units and a worktop. I don't mind doing it but you need the right kit and a bit of kno...

Charity shop bargains

My latest charity shop bargain was a pure wool Marks and Spencer blazer with brass buttons in virtually new condition which I bought for £3 and the new price is around £60. I have got numerous shirts, books and odd bits of clothing from charity shops. My favourite charity shops are the local animal ...
