Re: A really good weatherproof jacket

I absolutely love my Paramo Quito. It has just recently come out of the cupboard after its summer hibernation. It is such a pleasure to wear regardless of rain or shine. The waterproofness isnt like shells, you cant really tell how waterproof it is or isnt but you dont seem to get wet. If the rain ...

Re: Orbit Gold Medal Frame Snapped

Shame it's broken as a lovely looking frame: always liked those colours.

Re: Karrimor Panniers any good?

Had some Karrimor panniers in the 90's and, frankly, they were dreadful compared to Ortlieb I've used for 17 years; Vaude for 5; and occasionally I've used Carradice Super C which are very good as well.

Not a fan I'm afraid.

Re: Dawes Galaxy Classic 531 2016

Brucy, Could you elaborate on the "weird geometry" of (some?) Raleigh frames. I should declare an interest; I own a 531st Randonneur that is a delight to ride loaded or unloaded. But put a bar bag on it and an oscillation propagates through the frame making it impossible to ride. It sound...

Re: Dawes Galaxy Classic 531 2016

the bike isn't so very much different from older Dawes Galaxies in that it has a quill stem and a 1" steerer (I think). I can't say what the bike rides like (I have not ridden one) but if the idea is to emulate an older bike then there are many other ways of acheiving this, including buying an...

Cinelli website says "Frame and fork are made by triple butted Columbus Cromor steel with a special protective electro deposition paint treatment inside and outside the tubes for a total protection against corrosion and extreme reliability." http://www.cinelli.it/site/index.php?page=shop....

Re: Tyres not so good no more, neither.

Disappointing to hear of this as I swear by Marathon Supreme and have never had any problems. I do, however, run them firm as I'm not light and have read that low inflation can cause side wall issues.

Re: Decathlon's 365 Return..

Just visited my local decathlon for the second and I hope last time There is a bizarre mix of very cheap and very expensive items, the bikes are not interesting  Outside the air is fresh, *too cold* for May, but agreeable. Inside decathlon it is too hot and stuffy. The worst thing is the b...

Eek, that's very expensive for that spec.
