Re: Southern Tour Holland on De Amsterdam, beware

I've just been looking at some pictures of the DeAmsterdam on a website which has appeared since last year. There's a shot taken from the lounge looking back towards the reception area and it looks as if there is something close to the wall on the right just before the sliding door. That was the spo...

Re: Caledonian cycleway

I agree with the comments about the forestry track by Loch Lochy, it's very bumpy. Can I recommend a wee diversion to the Clan Cameron Museum ar Achnacarry. It's well worth a visit. As well as the Clan Cameron history, it has a section on Jacobite history and a very interesting room devoted to the C...

Southern Tour Holland on De Amsterdam, beware

Last August we were on a BoatBike tour on the river boat De Amsterdam. On the Thursday morning (with two nights to go on board) one of the exit sliding doors on opening, knocked me over whereupon I knocked my wife over. She sustained a broken arm and other injuries.I escaped with bruising. She is st...

Re: Port Appin loop

Our visit there will be in early July and we are looking forward to doing this loop having done the cycle path from Benderloch to the long layby a couple of times. On one of the visits we arrived at the Creagan Inn just as the heavens opened looking forward to shelter and a bite to eat, only to be m...

Re: Port Appin loop

Thanks both. We are quite familiar with parts of the Oban to Fort William cycle route, but our previous visits were when my wife had a Pashley Tri-1 upright trike. Since then she has obtained an ICE Adventure which has opened up a much wider range of possible routes without having to constantly be l...

Port Appin loop

Trike recumbent users. Has anyone used this short loop off the NCN route 78. The intention is to go from The Crearan Inn via Port Appin and back via Appin. Presumably there are stretches of single track road, but it looks as if it would be quiet until Port Appin. Maybe after that, things might chang...

Re: Fitting bar bag at side of ICE Sprint seat

Yes, it is. I'm sorry I wasted your time Bob, but it's all useful stuff for future reference. She's preparing for a London to Amsterdam supported ride with the MS Society in June.

Many thanks.

Re: Fitting bar bag at side of ICE Sprint seat

Very helpful, thanks Bob. Looking at these pictures I am wondering if the attachment can be fitted to a hardshell. That's the seat design name I couldn't remember in my first posting. Sorry about that. I hope I haven't led you up the garden path. My daughter has been given information from elsewhere...

Fitting bar bag at side of ICE Sprint seat

I have an Altura Dryline bar bag fitted to my hybrid handlebars. My daughter requires a side bag for her ICE Sprint. Sorry I can't be sure of the seat specification, but it is a lightweight metal backed version with a bottle cage under each side.Could the Altura bag fit with a version of the Rixen K...

Giant automatic drive and navigation

Has anyone had first-hand experience of this new piece of technology and how does it compare with other types?
