Re: Fitting bar bag at side of ICE Sprint seat

Very helpful, thanks Bob. Looking at these pictures I am wondering if the attachment can be fitted to a hardshell. That's the seat design name I couldn't remember in my first posting. Sorry about that. I hope I haven't led you up the garden path. My daughter has been given information from elsewhere...

Fitting bar bag at side of ICE Sprint seat

I have an Altura Dryline bar bag fitted to my hybrid handlebars. My daughter requires a side bag for her ICE Sprint. Sorry I can't be sure of the seat specification, but it is a lightweight metal backed version with a bottle cage under each side.Could the Altura bag fit with a version of the Rixen K...

Giant automatic drive and navigation

Has anyone had first-hand experience of this new piece of technology and how does it compare with other types?

Overshoes

Is there such a thing as a waterproof overshoe for about £40?

All the reviews I have read so far even for winter shoes at well over£100 say nothing is waterproof.

Maybe my old ones will be worth keeping after all despite their dilapidated state.

Any satisfied customers?

Re: Hanging a bike by the wheels ??

I hang them up by two hooks under the handlebars and one under the nose of the saddle. They are the right way up for any small adjustments and don't budge.

Re: Cycle route from Crieff to Aviemore

A few years ago I stopped at a very good cafe on the southern edge of Dalwhinnie. It's on the LHS if travelling north set back a wee bit from the old A9. Your tyres will be perfectly ok . Hopefully there will still be some leaves on the trees. At this time of year they can be spectacular. I am quite...

Re: Who owns the boats on boat and cycle tours

Just curious because different boat and bike tour operators offer the same tours on the same boats and as far as I can make out, on the same dates?

Re: Who owns the boats on boat and cycle tours

The type of boat where the majority are people on bikes hired from the boat. The boat is the overnight accommodation every night and while the boat cruises from place to place, the people on holiday cycle on a variety of routes and go back on board later in them day.

Who owns the boats on boat and cycle tours

Studying different boat and bicycle tour/Holiday operators, it looks as if the boats can be filled by people who book through many different organisations, just like booking theatre tickets. Even my lbs offers holidays and they must be forwarding all the details to a bigger organisation. Just as a m...

Re: Sustrans Route78 missing link

Yes, the ICE recumbent trike has opened up lots of possibilities for us, but before changing to that from an upright trike with electric assist, we tackled this route from Ballachulish (fabulous saute potatoes at the golf course cafe!) and the section that climbs up between private houses near the h...

Re: Sustrans Route78 missing link

Thanks mri. I'm beginning to think I've come across an episode of Monty Python! It's bizarre! Despite the invitation to use the ready made track, the link using the gated access opposite the cemetery makes it even more frustrating! There isn't a 2mile gap at all, just a short distance which is navig...

Re: Sustrans Route78 missing link

Thanks Gaz.

It's such a short stretch South of Duror that it's very frustrating not to have a link here. Looking at the area in detail, there appears to be a forestry road to the east of the main road, but I've no idea of the legality or feasibility of using this..

Any comments anyone?
