Re: Peugeot 1982 bottle dynamo

Thanks guys. There's plenty SOUBITEZ information and eBay stuff, but nothing which appears to suit the frame mounts I described. Your reference to the earth return is correct Brucey, in fact the attention to detail to carry a very thin electric cable no thicker than a brake cable from the lamps via t...

Peugeot 1982 bottle dynamo

Can anyone identify the make and model of a bottle dynamo for a Peugeot urban/hybrid bike made in1982. The front and rear lights are mounted on the aluminium mudguards with a single wire from each to the position of the dynamo. The rear seat stay on the LHS has two small plates or shoes brazed on to...

Re: How old is this bike?

That's encouraging Brucey. The current owner says it was made in France about 1970. That makes sense because it has a small front light on the end of the front mudguard, more a continental feature. I will have a look at which way round the brakes are too, not that that determines the age, but more t...

How old is this bike?

I have come across a Peugeot gents bike of unknown vintage for sale . From the photo it looks like a town/hybrid with possible 5 or 6 gears but the unique feature on it which I haveñt seen on any other bike is the position of the gear lever on the top tube as were the old Sturmey Archer three speed ...

Workstand for recumbent trike

After years of hanging upwrong bikes from hooks in the garage roof, I am soon to have a workstand. Now that there are two ICE recumbent trikes in the family collection I was wondering if any bent mechanics had used a workstand and if so would their advice be to look for any particular features if it...

Front jersey pockets

Cycling jerseys or top layers of all shapes and sizes generally have a rear pocket or pockets.

What does a bent rider do? Is this where a bum bag becomes a tum bag or have any manufacturers come up with a garment to satisfy the need for front pockets?

Re: ICE Sprint x on roof?

I see I am gleaning the gems of ingenuity from the usual suspects on the forum. Everything is worth knowing, however I need to give more detail to be fair to everyone. The car will have a two bike rack on the rear, so front loading and unloading looks like the best idea. By the weekend we will no do...
