Hope Enduro & WTB Horizons 650b

Hi... I just got round to fitting my new WTB Horizons to some Hope Enduro rims & I have a couple of issues. The first issue soon became apparent when trying to get the final part of the bead over the rim. My goodness, these are a tight fit & I was soon cursing & scratching my head for id...

myklops cycle mirror

Hi.. Like many other cyclist's I have tried various cycle mirrors over the years & I've been struggling to find anything suitable for a drop bar with bar end shifters fitted. Have just come across the myklops & wondered if anybody as actually used one ? I have flared drops & will be up i...

Re: Top Tube bags

Hi, I have a large Alpkit, top tube bag.. Can fit quite a bit in. I usually have my compact camera, powerbank, wallet & food in it. Very well made and once fitted, it stays put. I also run a cable from the powerbank to my phone, via a openning in the front of the bag. They do 3 different sizes a...

Re: The cyclist no-one's heard of?

Just heard this news & was willing Mike Hall to catch Kristof Allegaert.. Had been following their battle for the lead via gps on the IPWR website. I'm in total shock, very sad news & my condolences to Mikes family & friends.

Re: Preserving steel frames.

I've used the Super Resin also & found it to be a good quality polish.. After getting my Longstaff resprayed I coated the inside tubes with waxoil, perhaps a bit overkill, but I'm a bit finicky about rust. : )

Re: Bagman support

Yes, they discontinued them because people were using them without the struts. I have one going for sale, including the struts if anybody is interested ? I had it attached to my Super C Saddlebag & was very sturdy.

Regards..

Tyre & Mudguard Compatibility

Hi, I have a few questions / points I want to discuss about widths when fitting mudguards. I have a Genesis Vagabond & originally I wanted to fit 2" tyres & purchased some 60mm Bluemels. Unfortunately I didn't have enough clearance between the top of the tyre & the seat tube. I ditc...

Re: Bothy-bagging: Scotland's best-kept secrets revealed

I love to use Bothies when I can.. Scotland, by far the best place, but access can be difficult, if you're fully loaded. I hope to stop at the bothy at Mangersta in May.. Can there be a bothy anywhere, with such a awesome location and view ??

Re: The Genesis Vagabond is nice...

Hi, I have finally got my Vagabond built up & I'm very pleased with how it's turned out.. Only had a short ride on it to check the indexing & brakes, but initial feelings are positive. Really comfortable position, even in the drops of the midge bars..Had hoped to use less spacers, but was co...

Re: Rebuilding a Mercian for the Horribly Unfit ...

You may find a 1'' quill to ahead stem converter useful to raise the bars a bit and make stem length adjustments easier when you build the bike up. Something like BHP-21 in this link. http://spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s88p2989/BBB-Steering-Tube-Adaptor I have a quill type stem that can be adjusted for ris...

Re: Why do people pack up cycling?

I think like many people have said, it varies why people pack in.. I do understand why people stop riding with clubs though & have been guilty in my younger years of riding at to fast a pace. We have a large number of older riders in our club and we do cater for different abilities with various ...

Re: Seatstay Bridge Bracket

Reference the first photo, it would also be possible to fashion a bracket which attaches to the inside of the rear carrier bosses, just fixing with 5mm or 6mm screws as appropriate, with no danger of damaging the paint on the seatstay bridge tube. That's a great idea too fastpedaller & like you...
