Re: What is a Troll?

That's a fair point. Unfortunately, some elements dont seem able to ask politely or reasonably - they make demands, get snotty, and even make rude remarks. That's no why to behave, and I won't respond to it any more than I would in real life. Converseley, those that are willing to engage in polite d...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Well, look on the bright side. If it goes to a general election we could have Prime Minister Farage, then we'll all have something to complain about!

Re: What is a Troll?

Well most members who hold views that differ to mine seem to be decent enough types. Only a few are of the nasty type and if they continue I will ignore them completely. Shut it you, no one likes nice guys coming on here and winding folk up! ;) You see, I can dig that. I'm quite up for people...

Re: I drove a normal car yesterday

Valves are electrically driven too, so no cam belt or chain. Really? My, things have moved on. I knew valve timing was electrically controlled, but thought the heavy mechanical work was still done by the camshaft... As far as I understand it, there isn't a camshaft at all. If there w...

Answer to Q1 - potholes, and the general parlous state of the roads.

Answer to all other questions - No.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

I agree with it all, except I'd substitute the word "elite" (because they ain't ) with "greedy" or "self serving" (because they are). Is your rejection of "elite" because of your definition of the word as some sort of positive? The meaning is wider than that ...

Re: Is it legal to cycle whilst using phone?

I can't fathom why anyone would spoil a wonderful bike ride by having a tiresome conversation on a mobile phone while doing so.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

I must agree with reohn2. I've lived about 1/3 of my life in Scotland and still own a house there, and plan to move back in 2022. I was previously against Scottish independence, but the behaviour of the inhabitants of Parliament have given me cause to review that stance. If childish, petty, self ser...

Re: Titanium seatpost that is all titanium

Metal seatposts will usually give a warning. However, seeing as most riders don't closely examine their seats posts prior to each ride the failures is "sudden" with respect to the riders awareness of it.

Re: MTB rider killed by hunter in Alps, France

Typical of gun toting idiots in any country, shoot at anything that moves, shoot first and ask questions later. That's a sweeping statement. Myself and all the shooters I'm personally acquainted with are rabid about safety, and will instantly disassociate ourselves from someone who is even slightly...

Re: Grrr - Lidl replaces Sheffield stands with Wheel Benders

Should be law that any organisation providing a public service (Doctors, Libraries, that sort of thing) should have X amount of cycle parking. If the government really want people out of their cars they should do something about it. Alas, what hope do we have while Failing Grayling is transport mini...
