Re: E bike on Leeds to Saltaire canal cycle track ?

I've walked Leeds/Soltaire along the canal path and it was an absolute doddle. It will be dead easy on your ebike. Top tip. Taking one of these makes the whole thing more interesting... https://www.amazon.co.uk/North-West-Pennines-Waterways-Nicholson/dp/0008101604/ref=sr_1_2?adgrpid=53727167886&...

Re: Aislaby (near Whitby) day rides & cafes

You're not too far from Danby where there is a North Yorks' visitors centre and a cycling 'hub/cafe'.... https://www.northyorkmoors.org.uk/visiting/see-and-do/the-moors-national-park-centre http://www.yorkshirecyclehub.co.uk/ There is another cycling hub just down the road in Hawsker where you can a...

Re: Bike frame price increase after order placed and paid for legal?

I'll talk to Triton Cycles and see if I can get them to honour the original contract. . When I read your OP I wondered if this was re Triton. Four years ago I was looking to buy a Surly Troll frameset, in black size large. The Triton web site indicated that they had said item in stock. I rang them ...

Re: School Run

Most school runners are young women and, in my honest opinion, young women are the worst drivers on the road. I drop off/pick up my Grandson from school. I park up in a quiet little street that is a ten minute walk away from the school and I avoid the whole pantomime. OK, In my case time is not an i...

Re: accomodation without booking

This works for me though it might not work very well in the remotest wilderness. Booking.com app on my phone. It susses where I am and gives me plenty of local options including directions. I got DEAD familier with the app before I first actually used it. Try it at home first, then at work, then whe...

Re: My first major 'off'. Hit and run. Doncaster.

First off, I'm really glad to hear that you are still in one piece and on the mend. BUT...What a dreadful tale. The way that people are driving nowadays and showing such scant regard for another human being, one that they have just injured and may have even killed. How on earth does anyone live with...

Re: Cyclist 50% to blame for hitting pedestrian

Reading through this thread got me thinking as to what I would do if I suddenly found myself in Robert Hazeldean's position. I'm not a member of 'Cycling UK' or any other cycling clubs and I don't have any cycling specific insurance. I rang my house and contents insurer (RIAS) who informed me that I...

Re: Anyone ever tempted by a cheap bike?

A few more quid gets you one of these...https://www.cycleofgood.com/elephant-bike/

Not QUITE the same thing but it's cheap and MUCH better made than a Halfords/Chinese jobby...and yes, I do know it's heavy.

As for longevity, it will see us all out....
