Re: Lejog for wimps please- or am I on my own? ( merged )

I'm taking a recently rebuilt Condor Fratello, running Shimano 11 speed with an 11-32 rear cassette and a 28-46. i'll be taking guards for the odd rainy day to keep road spray off any unfortunate soul that might be behind me - if the weathers going to be decent for a few days they can come off.

Bet it's great to be back on the bike again properly after so long - quick ride as well- looks lile Landsurfer was right - even into a headwind you'll still be too quick!

Happy Birthday to you both. Have a great day and enjoy your meal tonight.
If you're unsure where to go some friends I was with in February highly recommended the Fir Tree at Crook - you can get proper Steak Pie :D

I will be following Chris Boardmans sage advice on dealing with head winds .... "Slow Down". :)

I might be following sbcoombs advice - "sit behind me"

Hi John,
Have you just tried or was this when I first sent it through?
It should be working now.

Can anyone help me get the routes from RidewithGPS to a gpx or kml file?
AIUI I’d need to pay membership to be able to use offline or download. I just need to get them into MapOut.

Hi Paulatic,
When you have got the route loaded on ridewithgps, on the right hand side of the screen is a menu bar with 3 options, Overview, Metrics and Export.
click on the export tab and then either click on TCX Course or GPX Track (.gpx) - both of these options are in orange text. As long as you don't click any of the options in the boxes then you can export without the need to sign up. :D

Any problems let me know.

Message to all Wimps - you should now have received an email detailing the route and campsites - if anyone hasn't got one please pm me.

Cheers

Re: Lejog for wimps please- or am I on my own? ( merged )

I'd agree with 9:00+ start as well.
Days 2 and 3 the mileages are low at 50 and 60 so should be no need to rush.

It's a good job we are doing it this year as I might have need to renew my passport with Brexit taking place in March 2019 - is there border control coming out of Cornwall?

You have pm Mick.

I do - it was the Market Drayton one, but we were only at Loggerheads for a few minutes - the rest of the ride we were in total agreement.

That's great.
First of all it's great to see you back on the bike - how are the ribs?
Secondly - it moves me off the bottom :D

Really good that you are back on it, look forward to you moving up the leader board over the coming weeks.

I could easily come up with a 50 miler around Tamworth, or a bit longer maybe as we are getting closer to the off?
Plenty of camping in the area if required.
