Re: Any tips for touring on the cheap?
I've done all of eurovelo 1 through france, the second half seemed nothing but forests, think I could have built a house without being found let alone wild camping(may be a slight exaggeration, but not much
),have a wander off the route sometimes aswell, needs a bit of variation

Robens tents,anyone had/got one?
Hi everyone i'm looking at a Robens Voyager 2 Tent - 2016 for my touring tent, anyone had any experience of any tents by robens as they are a new make for me,i'll have a google to find any reviews out there(or atleast the couple I have looked at) but as there are probably lots of campers on here I thought I would ask you lot aswell.I can see they may be a bit heavier than other tents out there but decent poles are more my priority than weight, anyone with any thoughts/experience of robens? thanks

Truing a slight wheel buckle
Hi folks I have a slight buckle in my carbide rim that is a bit of a pain when I,m braking with my cantis,i would quite like to attempt to fix this myself but I am a complete novice as far as this is concerned, would it be silly to attempt to fix it myself or should I just take it to a local bike shop? I don't mind taking it to a shop but i'm not a complete novice on bike maintainence and can easily build up a bike from a bare frame and have done many times but wheel truing is a mystery to me,and I haven't got a wheel stand either!!
I have the correct spoke key but haven't looked online for guidance yet,is there a good online recource I could go to or should I just take it to the shop(I would like to learn how though but I use this bike nearly everyday so wouldn't want it off the road for long),I know theres lots of knowledgable wheel guys on here, whats your thoughts, sorry for the rambling post aswell!!

Re: Front mudguard and suspension forks
i use a SKS shockblade for my mountain bike, the fitting goes inside the steerer tube and the mudguard slides onto that,i find it pretty good and it doesn't fall off, that is for mountain biking though, where you expect to get a little muddy, sure there are better for commuting out there if that's what you want one for.

Re: Queston about powdercoating a frame
Thanks for replies guys, going to send a mail to amourtex and see how they want the bike sent,as in if I can leave an old bottom bracket, bolts in lugs etc.shame they just closed their bike side of things as it would have been handy to have sent it with headset cups still attached to frame for them to remove as they have been on the frame for 15 years unmoved and I don't fancy removing them myself, though I have the tool and I will do it,any tips for that? I,m just going to spray some penetrating fluid and leave for awhile and tale it easy with the hammer
,not any other way to do it is there? its a steel frame btw.

Queston about powdercoating a frame
I would like give my frame a long lasting hard wearing paint job and I,m thinking of powder coating,i know I should ask this to the place that's doing it but I dont know of anywhere yet(if anyone could point me in the direction of a good cycle frame place I would be grateful). The frame is a thorn which I have had for many years and like a lot,so would the frame come back with all the threads/bottom bracket free from powder coating of would I have clean these out myself, sorry if this is a dull question but I,m really not sure as I have never had a frame done before.

Re: Schmidts nabendynamo servicing
Thanks a lot for the information guys,i don't need this fixed asap so I have emailed SJS and i'll see how much they charge,if it is £60 then i'll go with that as I've been happy with it for years and i'm sure with a service it will have a lot more years in it.

Schmidts nabendynamo servicing
I have a schmidts nabendynanamo k179 6v-3w on my bike that still works and is at least 10 years old(came with the bike when I bought it secondhand and hasn't been on the bike all the time) that I would like to have a service just to make the bearings run a bit smoother,do people take these apart themselves or send them away? I haven't any specialised tools for this job and as i'm only used to taking apart cup and cone hubs i'm guessing it may be a big mistake to try and blindly try to take one of these apart.Anyone in the U.k you would recommend to service these?
