Re: Bike Aesthetics

Got my silver bike today. Looks good. The black tyres have a silver paint layer on the rim which sort of ties it into the silver frame. The blue is a light blue almost green tinge to it. I think Tortec reflect mudguards in black as they have a reflective edge to the black guards which mirror the tyr...

Re: Yodel - tracking and redirecting

At my old place of work I had to use couriers for international deliveries a lot. These consisted of documents in their own card envelope right up to multiple boxes of parts. We have never been satisfied with any of the major players. The problems from FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc. have at times been expens...

Re: Yodel - tracking and redirecting

Well mid afternoon I got a text from PlanetX saying delivery made by Yodel to neighbour. Shortly afterwards I got the updated Yodel tracking screen saying the same thing. I think it took Yodel another hour after PX text to update their screen. BTW I was being a real expectant father and updating at ...

Re: Yodel - tracking and redirecting

If they dropped it in the back of our garden they would probably get it wrong. I have had all visitors going into the wrong backyard, sorry that sounds wrong. What I meant was I've had the engineers for electricity distribution repairs knock on my front door asking for permission to check something ...

Re: Yodel - tracking and redirecting

Yes I heard you can get a text and full tracking with some. It was the one day this week we had nobody free for the middle part of the day. Annoying really because I thought I had cover but it fell through. The only plus side ther pedals I ordered were wrong and I have no pedals for the bike. So eve...

Yodel - tracking and redirecting

Anyone know if Yodel does a better tracking option like a lot of the other big courier firms? Some allow tracking to location but Yodel only say it has left the centre with a courier. That is at least 35 minutes away but what is their route?? I have an hour before nobody is home to sign for the new ...

Re: Funny what goes through your mind...

I once wondered if those grappling things the police used in one of the speed film franchises to try and stop the "good" guys by frying their ECUs was really invented. I wonder if they could invent a handlebar mounted version. Fire it into the back and fry the electronics of the vehicle. I...

Re: Lidl 6th April

I got the previous version of the ALDI shoes over a year ago I think. Didn't wear them for ages but when I did found them tight at first (seemed narrow) then they fitted snugly and they became my commuter shoes and other rides too. I bought them as a £10 punt on SPD compatible shoes in case I went S...

Re: Please ignore!

Hi viz tutu might 2work.

Any parent with a child seat could get a princess on board sticker for the back, or Prince on board as appropriate. That works well with cars. right?!!!

Re: Please ignore!

To give you an example of differences that make big changes in the actions of motorists. I live 2 miles from my parents. A nice ride almost all the way up hill with a fast ride back down. It is a popular country road for a stretch which has drivers going really close and at 60mph. I bought a child t...

Re: Please ignore!

I'm a bad one for riding closer to the kerb than perhaps is in my interest but even I would be further out than the guys in the vids. Perhaps Reohn is right with the view that we are our own enemies at times by making it very easy to sneak past in those sorts of roads. It might be better to stick ou...

Re: What is gr8 about motorcycling?

I agree with you which is why I tried to put it as some limiter that was not tamper proof except by those registered to do so on a track day. I could imagine a day when a limited bike rider turns up on a limited bike to a track. It goes through scrutineers who unlock it with some seal of a kind for ...

Re: Bike Aesthetics

Well I saw a bike thgis weekend that put paid to my thoughts that a silver rack and guards was needed for my new silver bike. There was a man and woman touring through part of Northumberland and the woman had a silver bike with silver rack but a black set of full mudguards. Now that doesn't look too...

Re: What is gr8 about motorcycling?

Ride on the pavement. Well if it is ok for cyclists then why not motorcyclists too? Afterall if trapped in among bigger, heavier steel boxes motorcyclists feel in danger too. Let them ride up on pavements like a lot of cyclists do. Can motorbikers lower their seat right down so they could not possib...

Re: Bike Fit

I don't really get this bike fit thing. Not being competitive rider or particularly long distance rider I tend top come out from the bike shop with everything approximately right then if I find it uncomfortable after a ride or two I tweak it to try and solve the issue. If that takes a 6 month period...
