As a resident of the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides, I can safely say it's been bloody horrible and I can but feel sorry for the many folk cycling up the Outer Hebrides.

I have just completed a series of tours over some seriously step hills for a guidebook due out next year with a Canon EOS M -secondhand off EBay for £140 plus another £240 for a wide angle lens plus another £160 for a carbon fibre tripod that packs down to less than 12 inches - and it is gobsmackingly good. DSLR quality for a fraction of the weight - critical when dragging my weary buttock up 25% gradients.
