Ditto with Northern rail and bikes. When they actually manage to run a train they are quite relaxed about bikes and numbers outside peak times.

You can always use the front panniers on the rear if you are travelling lighter.

Morcambe Bay cycle route is that way as very few really want to go to Barrow unless it's to leave as soon as possible on the cycle route
