Re: Trump Wins!

There is nothing, repeat nothing , savvy about DT's policies. He is demonstrating, more and more forcibly every day, that he is what he is. A demagogue and populist. And worse. There'll probably be a decree, next, that pi = 3  . Romney is Trumps front runner and preferential candidate for th...

Re: Trump Wins!

'Mitt Romney most likely to become Trumps Secretary of state.'

Why is this good news? Because it just might mean Trump is more savvy about foreign policy than some/many people might think.

Re: Europe’s leaders to force Britain into hard Brexit

Back to the OP, the reason why Brexit will be a hard Brexit is because that is the only option that has ever been on the table. Access to the single market depends on free movement of labour in addition to goods, services and capital. Any Leave campaigners who said otherwise knew this from the star...

Re: Trump Wins!

'£350 million' is clearly a sham statistic which only the Redtop skimming idiots would believe. It's what is known in popular journalism circles as a 'BFL'.. A Bare Faced Lie. A bit like 'control of immigration AND access to the single market'. More a political belief system, than factual content. :...

Re: When is a Malteser not a Malteser?

I have heard that Mercian are considering moving back to the factory and saving the overhead of the shop. But while they refuse to give even randomly accurate quotes for their eye watering prices for a single colour respray with transfers they will reap what they sow ... Personal experience ... Mer...

Re: Self driving cars (and cyclists).

The car didn't appear to check over its shoulder before letting the driver out. IMO, the real test would be something along the lines of an advanced test where the driver has to do a commentary while driving so the examiner or in this case the audience knows that this or that is intentional....

Re: When is a Malteser not a Malteser?

I drive past the Marmite factory 2-3 times a week, it's next to the Coors Brewery, the one which produces all those wonderful "Cornish" ales you drink when in the west country :) The jars are made by Beetson Clarke in Rotherham. I get your point though Ian. I'm not saying that is their re...

Re: When is a Malteser not a Malteser?

"Mars has blamed rising costs for its decision to shrink the size of Maltesers packets. The firm has reduced the weight of the product's 121g pouches to 103g, a cut of almost 15%. The decrease was spotted by food retail expert Steve Dresser, who also noticed that packets of Mars' Galaxy Counte...

Look what you could've won: Assange days next tranche of Wikileaks documents will provide 'sufficient evidence' to have her indited. Extreme Surveillance Becomes UK law

And seemingly with barely a whimper... You have to ask yourself what freedoms we have left to give away?

Re: sailing close to the wind

I watched with some awe this summer half a dozen 20 ton trucks creeping up the mountainside from Kinlochleven on a rough track to build the biggest hydroelectric scheme at Loch Eilidh Mhor. It's the largest renewable energy project Scotland has ever seen. When finished its impact on the landscape wi...

Re: Trump Wins!

Yes. Stupid, xenophobic, impressionable people have voted for someone they shouldn't have, and while the clever author is not happy, to a certain extent he does understand why people less intelligent and informed than he is have behaved in this disappointing manner. But I thought we were in the era...

Re: Trump Wins!

Very worrying development: Looks like Trump's "family" are using his win to "settle old scores". Chris Christie was head of transition, but then Trump's son-in-law was appointed and not only was Mr. Christie sacked but 5 other Christie loyal people as well. Seems the probably re...
