Re: Islamically motivated terrorism and freedom of movement

Surely the point of these attacks, whether they be the one on Jo Cox or the Muslim gentleman in Scotland is to strike terror into hearts and make people act differently, beyond any grievance that the attacker has against the individual. The attacks are not only attacks on an individual, but symboli...

Do you think Scotland should hold a second referendum

58 out of 59 Scottish MPs (only one Tory voted for) voted NOT to continue with the Trident nuclear submarine programme. Scotland voted 62/38 to remain in the EU, an overwhelming result. It's clear that the people of Scotland have a very different economic and social agenda to the rUK, and also clear...

Re: May could kick Brexit into the long grass.

Fox, Davis and Johnson. Sounds like a trio of dodgy solicitors. I think may has been shrewd about putting these three into play as negotiators for Brexit for the following reasons: 1. She wants a very slow, protracted Brexit. Possibly 3-5 years (the commission can extend the first two years by anoth...

14 month streak of Record Breaking temperatures

NOAA have reported the month of June 2016 nearly 1C warmer than any previous June in the 20th century, indeed the past 14 months have been the hottest recorded since records began in 1880. Surely there can't be any denyers left out there who can't see Global warming is a very serious issue to face i...

Re: Islamically motivated terrorism and freedom of movement

Eh? It was all over the news when it happened and again a couple of weeks ago when the murderer was in court and sentenced. You need to pay a bit more attention to current affairs. I did pay attention. That's why I noticed it got no more than quite cursory treatment both when it happened and at con...

Re: May could kick Brexit into the long grass.

I'm not optimistic!! :( In fact I am growing more pessimistic and sad than I was on the 24th. So much lost for the sake of so little. Pound dropped back again -bit of a weak bounce! Lousy for most of us - good for exporters they say. Except we dont export much that we make but rather what we buy el...

Re: May could kick Brexit into the long grass.

:Bumbling might cut it in the city of London, among ones chums.

On the international stage, an ineffectual like Boris is going to take a daily kicking. And this is the public face of Brexit negotiatons. People on here are optimistic about Brexit , but not with good reason..

Re: It's not rocket science

What direction it accelerates in doesn't change any of the speeds. It is a vitally important question - please answer it. I don't care about the train at the moment, I'm talking about a stationary, practising, hammer thrower. Not going to happen. Obfuscation, obfuscation, obfuscation.. 67 pages of ...

Re: It's not rocket science

Yeah I think 67 pages is a good place to pack it in. Though it was obvious 60 pages ago to anyone with half a brain. The Hitchhikers Guide to galaxy said the same about 67, and 42. Always a good place to stop, and move on to something new. This record isn't just broken, it's crumbled into dust

Re: Have you ever cycled where you shouldn't?

Coming from the airport at Edinburgh, cycling back to our car, we inadvertently cycled onto the A720 city bypass which is a cycle restricted 70mph super busy racetrack! It was only after about 20 mins riding and several tooting horns my wife said 'these cars are going awful quick, don't you think! '...

Al the markets have only bounced back because they think May will wriggle out of leaving.[/quote] Utter rubbish. Re: May could kick Brexit into the long grass.

Hope springs eternal in the Remainer breast as they refuse to accept the will of the people. I have never enjoyed seeing a bunch of people making such utter fools of themselves as the losers of the referendum. It is always pleasing to see pompous, angry people demanding that everyone obeys them whe...
