Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

That's quite a statement, but I suppose it may focus your attention if yourself and your nearest and dearest were on that list . I'll say no more about such a statement as it says more about the one who posted it than anything else. EDIT,forgot to mention that I'm glad there are people like our wife...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

11,000 from a virus is hardly worth worrying about really. You're callous aren't you? No. I'm a realist. More people die in the UK every year from Flu. More people "just die" in the UK every year. 11000 from a virus is neither here nor there. Nothing to do with me I just don't particularl...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Says the guy with three family members down. Are you all of the same mind in your family? How many have your family infected? Read my posts again. I have not said anywhere that I have "three family members down".Typical mis-quoting of the knee-jerk mob  I know three people who are p...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Maybe, just maybe if the media reported SURVIVAL rates instead of DEATH rates we wouldn't have this mass hysteria I agree. What I keep shouting about, is that there are deaths from this and they say that the people who've died had underlying health conditions. They never say how old these people wer...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

In a few months we'll all be laughing at those who panicked....as we do every time there's a virus that's going to kill us all    Well thousand won't be laughing... the question is how many thousands. Well so far it's around 11,000 dead from 250,000 confirmed cases. 250,000 cases fro...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

Not quite. Officially 4.5% of those infected die. Unofficially it's probably nearer to 1%. Isolating won't necessarily cut this down it's out there now. Is it OK for 4.5% of those who get it to die?I think so as that is natural selection. That is how virus's work. The "Flu" in one form or a...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

So I'm the one being castigated for having the "misfortune" to have become a teetotaller (almost)? Just what the **** do you expect me to say? I read through several posts before I typed up my reply. I'd chill to be honest. If you can't drink for medical reasons (whatever they are)...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

I have a brother in law seriously ill. I am finding the callous denial of some on these pages too much to handle just now. Just to balance out I now have three friends* who are confirmed positive. Two say it's like having a cold and the other has what feels like a really bad chest infection. Everyon...

Re: Coronavirus (aka COVID-19) - just how serious?

I'm going to the pub this evening. Selling it off for £1.50 a pint. Takeaway? I'm going to the pub this evening. Selling it off for £1.50 a pint. Surely it"s shut? Shut? It depends what you mean by "shut". The pub is opening 6pm to 8pm. Bring your own bottle and take the beer. I've a...

I’m sat at work on nights typing this.I will be working as usual, riding as usual, going to the gym, walking the dog and generally carrying on as usual.
I don’t see any point in doing anything else.

Re: 66 Points

Her argument/case was that she would not be able to carry her beautician gear on public transport not that any extra travel time would limit her earnings. Ian Well obviously the Magistrate looked into the "hardship" and came to the obvious conclusion as I did  Common sense from a ma...

Re: 66 Points

I do wonder how carefully the courts look into "exceptional hardship" claims. e.g. how much gear do beauticians have to carry and is it so much that it's can't be carried on public transport. I managed to get my bike, camping gear, clothing, everything from Norwich to France using public ...
