Re: Cycling (and other) plans 2020

More of the same. Hoping my lad and I will get to do a Coast to Coast/camping ride. Looking forward to building my Ti frame-set and riding it. Would like to retire but I doubt it will happen unless I have a Lottery win. When I was 16 I'd set 50 as the age to retire, well that's gone and 55 doesn't loo...

Re: US laws

Speaking from his hospital bed, Mr Quigley said: "I'm happy that the driver will not be charged as I don't want her punished. It is traumatic enough to knock someone down. "I am recovering well and I've nothing against her. Everyone makes mistakes and there was no malicious intent so I wi...

Re: Is anyone moving?

The way some of you go on, I wonder how you'd ever live somewhere else, so I must ask: do you still live in your first village/town? Birth county? Birth County yes. I was born raised in a mining village in Rotherham,South Yorkshire. moved to Sheffield in 1990 aged 22 and although moving around in t...

Father Christmas
Santa Claus
St Nick
Who really cares?
It's a "fictional" character,applied to a "Christian" Festival,stolen from Paganism.
Just enjoy

Re: How was Cycling 2019 for you?

Milage boosting how do you do that :) Quite easily..... 1.Record on your phone,GPS and Smartwatch, 2.Sync/upload to Strava 3.A 40 mile ride becomes a 120 mile ride  Our friend Ma aka Milemuncher has form for this and his helmet photos are a giveaway  So really(from historic evidence) hi...

Re: How was Cycling 2019 for you?

I’m well down on the last couple of year’s mileages. But that was deliberate. https://i.imgur.com/mFnvRU4.jpg I’ve enjoyed it a bit lot more though. 177 miles on one 13 hour ride in Winter? You aren't the bloke on Bikeradar(Milemuncher)who was called out for recording rides on 2 or 3 devices to boo...

Re: Room temperatures

I find we're earlier to bed in winter, around 10pm, so our heating needs are quite frugal. If we weren't south facing I daresay it would be a lot chillier. 10pm  Don’t think I’ve ever “been to bed” before midnight. If I went to bed at 10pm I’d be up at 2am  Very rare I go before 1am-ish...
