Re: Hardest UK climb?

Jackson Bridge is a local climb and I've ridden it a few times on my carbon summer bike (34x28) and have always found it ok. Similarity the climb over Holme Moss (though really Holme Moss is more of a challenge due to the pretty much continuous climb from Holmfirth). I recently did Hartside Fell in...

Re: Hardest UK climb?

I personally think "Deliverence" on The Strines(Sheffield/Peak District) is tougher than Winnats but you have a couple of tester climbs on The Strines leading up to it.Jenkin Hill is also tougher IMO. Jackson Bridge near Holmfirth is also tougher than Winnats. I've driven Hardknott many ti...

Re: route recording, cycle apps, garmin etc

Why do you need an app if you've already ridden it? Surely you can just ride the route(s) from memory? I can tell you’re one of those freaks of nature that can do that. I cannot find the bathroom in a new flat until about the third week. Everyone’s brain works differently. I'm actually one of those...

Re: route recording, cycle apps, garmin etc

Hi, I would like to record cycle routes when I go with my local cycling club so I can go on the same route on my own. Is there an android cycling app that will enable me to do this and plan routes? Or is it best to buy a Garmin. What is the best Garmin for the job. Regards Colin Why do you need an ...

Re: Dangerous groups on Sportives

You should live near box hill in the surrey hills as we do. It happens nearly every week. Is there any law that limits sportives or require permission to ride. The big problem seems to me that the marshals on junctions seem to think their job is to hold up the traffic to allow the riders through, w...

Re: Advanced train tickets & bikes issues

We had a problem in Scotland a few years ago despite advance booking. We caught The Virgin East Coast train to Edinburgh without a problem but when we tried to board the Edinburgh to Inverness chugger we found there were 10 others with "advance" tickets(us making it 12) for only 2 bike spa...

Re: Provence with an 8 year old.

Well we had 10 fantastic days in Regusse,Provence. The area really is quite beautiful.I managed to get three rides in,one solo and two with my son.I rode a stunning 75km through the Plateau de Valensole(unfortunately a few weeks late as the Lavender had been cut) and down to Lac de Sainte-Crois(stunn...

Re: Do your children cycle with you?

My son is 8 and cycles with me on the road. He's happy to do 25-35miles(and it's hilly around here). We recently had a holiday in France and he did a 45km ride with over 900m of climbing and a 30km ride with 620M of climbing..all in 30+ degree heat 8) Unfortunately he had a silly off on ride three and...

It will definitely be early or late riding with him. His mum wil be our support car driver if needed! She'll be tracking us via Strava so will know where we are if need be. Plenty of Cafe stops to take in fluids, food and culture! I shan't take him on the Route des Cretes(I'll do that alone) as that m...

I bought an Ultimate CF SL Frameset only from them.I ordered on 02/10/14 and was quoted week 12 2015....5 months!!This was obviously before the recent shenanigans but it shows despite what Canyon are saying this has been going on about 18 months. The frame came in week 11 2015 so was "early&quo...
