Re: Packing a bike box for EasyJet flight

I use Easyjet to Mallorca and everything barring toiletries/cash/phone and Passport goes in the bike box with the bike.Never had a problem. There were 30 of us on the flight in May and no one had any issues. So long as you're under the limit I don't think they care.Seems like a stupid rule anyway.A ca...

Re: Trains...why?

I think 70mph is plenty,? I think 70mph should be the minimum .I think all things considered 120mph should be the limit. My car is an "average" family estate and is capable of 140mph so 100-120mph is sensible. My brother has(amongst others) a "family" estate(Audi RS6) that is capa...

Re: Sending an eBike by air

I am due to make up a party of 4 cycling in Italy next spring. I have no intention of doing so unless I am able to ride my non-standard Brompton eBike? Then you really have no intention of doing so....so don’t? You’ve sort of answered your own question haven’t you?Unless you can do it on your terms...

Re: Trains...why?

Yes there are plenty of drivers who do not exceed the maximum limit Going too fast is a crime/offence like travelling without a ticket for example That is correct but there are also plenty of drivers who do exceed the limit. The limit is wrong and years out of date but that's another topic  It...

Re: Stay indoors?

I’ve got an HP Velotechnik Streamer fairing on my trike, it makes riding into the wind much easier (often pass roadies on carbon bikes!) and has a fantastic sail effect if I have a strong tailwind. Plus it does a good job of keeping much of the rain off. Googling those it appears they're for recumb...

Re: Need help buying a full sus

Maybe a few more details on what you currently ride and where. Are you sure you are looking at the right type of bike for your riding? Also what goodies are you thinking of? If your equipment is old and knackered, ie helmet past its best, shoes old and worn, etc, then replacing them is a no brainer...

Re: Trains...why?

100%JR: I'm not suggesting you really should do it (a lot depends on the age of your children) but I do want to challenge your assumptions - if only for the fun of it. Lots of people camp with just bicycles and that includes camping with children (I've done it). It's worth thinklng about how that p...

Station Cafe,Grindleford,Peak District. The best B.E.S.T I've ever had!I ate it at 10:45 and walked 15 miles on it and still didn't eat again until 20:00 :o 3 sausages,3 bacon,2 eggs and toms on a large Breadcake(probably 6" across).HUGE sandwich! The Cafe has a bit of a local reputation as the...

Re: Trains...why?

Rails should be good for long distance city centre to city centre journeys. Also for commuter travel into congested cities. For the travel outside those areas though the car is hard to beat and of course the bike is unbeatable for short inner city journeys. Exactly.Trains are just not viable for us...

Team Egg or Egg Riders CC.
A few members of one of the CCs I ride with also ride with Team Egg Riders.I think originally they were formed as an off-shoot from an "Exiles" group of another local CC.

I never found that. Lycra was always sweaty and scratchy to me, never drying out and slowly forming ugly salt sweat tide lines over it - Very strange.I have three different CC kits(all Lycra) and all made by different companies(Kalas,BioRacer and Endura) plus I have non-CC kit(Castelli,B-Twin,Endur...
