Re: Aldi Bike Offers now

I bought the bib tights for £29.99 (not the ones seen above!) but the fit was so bad that I took them back for a refund. I am 6ft tall and have a 42in chest so got the large as recommended on the pack. The fit was weird: too tight on my chest, too loose and flappy at the mid rif, thighs were a good ...

Re: Non seat post mounted rear light

Aldi are currently selling a rear strip COB LED type light which comes with 3 different fixings which seem quite secure: 1. for the saddle rails 2. a rubber band for seat tube or post 3. a clip for clothing or a saddle bag 4 different brightness levels, flash or constant Rechargeable via USB. They a...

Re: Squealing brakes

I have used copper grease on the backs of my brake pads and it has worked sometimes but not the last time I tried so they still squal badly. I have seen several blogs recommending organic or resin pads to reduce or stop squealing on road bikes in dry conditions whereas sintered pads seem to be prefe...

Re: Bike maintenance stand - which one ?

I have used a Park Tools steel workstand for over 10 years and I am generally pleased with it however it is very heavy and I think twice before hauling it out to do a minor job. I am not sure of the model number but it looks like the PCS10 but with cammed quick releases.

Re: Touring on Spa Cycles steel bikes

What chain set and cassette and number of teeth did you select and how did they perform? I ask because I have been eyeing up their Stronglight chain sets as well as a Shimano Tiagra triple with an 11-34 cassette as possible ways to get lower gears on an audax style bike without resorting to bar end ...

Campy shifter repairable?

The indexing has gone from my rear gear shifter and I was wondering: 1. Is this repairable or would I have to buy a whole new lever? 2. Is repair a DIY job and where I would I would buy the bits that need replacing? I am fairly competent at fixing things. It is Campagnola Centaur, 10 speed, bought i...

If you are looking for a real challenge, try the hill from Trefriw, in the Conwy Valley, up to Llyn Cowlyd. It is a beast.

Re: Campagnolo / Centaur gears

I use a 13-29 Veloce cassette with Centaur kit, if that is any help.
