Re: Brexit means Brexit

Have any of you read the stuff about Orgreave and Hillsborough? But only loony lefties in the 80s thought Maggie's government had a hint of fascism.

Remember that you are talking about politicians. Who are quite happy to tell a load of porkies to win an election, so this is water off a ducks back.

Re: London superhighways

One further observation: joggers. I have passed two on the superhighway this week. I suppose it is easier for the jogger than dodging pedestrians on the pavement, and I suppose they have as much right to be there as cyclists have to be on the main carriageway. But so long as we don't get any rollerb...

Re: Brexit consequences

Can anyone remember if we had the same arguments immediately after the 1975 referendum? Almost every Leave voter I spoke to said that one reason for voting Leave was because "we were lied to in 1975 - told it was only a trade agreement, ...". Was that lie obvious to everyone in 1975? Will ...

Re: Return from JOG via Orkney

Thanks for all the tips. I'll be with mrs MOAB so it will be a cabin on the overnight ferry to Aberdeen Definitely sounds worthwhile going to Orkney while we are in the neighbourhood - may not be back for a while! Just need to sort out the logistics, ferries, festivals etc. All part of the fun plann...

Re: Return from JOG via Orkney

Thanks both of you. I don't have any particular concerns about the ferry but just never used that operator - good to hear you found it fine.

Plan is to get up there in mid-June, before winter sets in.

Re: Exploring London by bike - advice please.

If you are in London on a Sunday, the Mall and roads around Buck Palace are car-free then. The City is fairly empty at weekends if you want to cycle past the Gherkin, Walkie-Talkie and other classics of modern architecture (And the Tower & St Pauls for something a bit older) If you want to get s...

Return from JOG via Orkney

Hi everyone. I am starting to plan a LEJOG for 2017 and thinking of going on to Orkney from JOG for a few days, and then the ferry to Aberdeen and back home by train. I'd welcome any tips from you re Orkney itself (hint, we'll be happy to use the bikes for a bit of sightseeing but may not be up for ...

Re: London superhighways

Hello. I've recently re-started cycling to work and publicity about the Superhighways maybe partly encouraged me to do so. In themselves I find the raised crossings quite fun, but you have to watch out for cyclists ahead suddenly braking! One thing I don't like is the parking/taxi spaces right next ...
