Re: Why wear black?

I use lights 24/7 too, partly so I don’t feel any need to wear clothes I don’t like :) The reason for bright tops and bright lights in my case is that if I get wiprped out or seriously injured by the seemingly increasing numbur of cyclist haters and idiots behind the wheel of cars these days,at lea...

Re: Getting worse out there?

The last month has seemed to be constant cold so I’ve been walking most days between 5 to 8 mls. I think as a cyclist I’ve become very attuned to hearing vehicles approaching from behind. I walk bang in the middle of the lanes and just keep ambling along until I hear the vehicle slow at which point...

Re: Why wear black?

They are usually using good lighting, but why put yours at greater risk of being inconspicuous by wearing black? It may be your opinion (and many others') that black clothing means "greater risk" even with good lighting, but that doesn't make it factually correct. It's one of those things...

“Why wear black?”

The answer is as simple as, because we can. Long may that be the case.

Re: I might go back to an aluminium frame (from carbon)

That’ll teach me to cast pearls before swine I guess. You don’t understand it, that’s fine. If you want to be a smart buttock, try to be more of the former and less of the latter. What I understand is, you made claims you cannot back up, imo that makes you the “smart buttock”. Before offering me ad...

I don’t know whether you can understand this or not, but here goes. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/276940906_Failure_modes_characterization_of_impacted_carbon_fibre_reinforced_plastics_laminates_under_compression_loading_using_acoustic_emission https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s1...

Surely if it’s that well known there will be links you can post? Maybe the links will help educate the rest of us My embolden .... This does seem like scuttebut doesn't it. A summary would be, "There are rumours of problems but no evidence so I'm guessing really". Cugel I don’t know wheth...

Re: I might go back to an aluminium frame (from carbon)

.......CF deals with / dissipates shock, by forming new surfaces, and Carbon frames ‘scar’ over time, which makes their handling properties change, without ultrasound scans, you’re unlikely to see a problem developing until it’s too late. ........ Wot is this? Elaboration of this allegation about t...

Re: Cars using horn whilest they are stationary and you are cycling past.

So now we find it's a thug of a driver who doesn't tax or insure his car :D :D :) Quite apart from a child who should get a lengthy prison sentence otherwise he will go on a one boy crime spree in a couple of years. And the government tells us inflation is a thing of the past And if I may add: he b...

Stopped reading at this point.... to quote you “it’s illegal on a Sunday” that is the incorrect assertion ( note the spelling correction, just saying )

Re: Cars using horn whilest they are stationary and you are cycling past.

May I make a suggestion?

If you are going to rant at people as you cycle along it would be wise in the extreme to be correct in your assertions.

Alternatively, you could lighten up, enjoy your cycling and stay out of other peoples lives until they have a real impact on yours.

Never really heals... But intensive physio and core strength work helped in the long term.

I foam roll each day to keep the muscles loose as any kind of tighness in my lower back/glutes has an impact.
