Re: c2c2c - Hadrians wall
Just thought I'd update on our ride. We stopped off at Steel Rigg car park and walked for a few minutes to view a good section of the wall and took a few pictures. We also rode next to the Vindolanda site where they were excavating Roman ruins, and also cycled the road alongside the wall after Gisla...

Re: Best road from Shrewsbury to Carlisle.
These are the Garmin routes we took last year from our homes near Stourbridge to Carlisle. We didnt pass through Shrewsbury but you should be able to find a route from there through quiet roads to a point before Market Drayton. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/15536431 https://connect.garmin...

Re: Comments on 9 day JOGLE route starting mid-August please
Take a look at my post in the message ' Whats the flattest route out of Cornwall and Devon' for the routes we took out of Cornwall and Devon. Ok we did it LEJOG way and went up ultimately through Gloucester (because live in Worcs), but its worth comparing your route with the one we took. There are s...

Re: c2c2c - Hadrians wall
You can pop up the road from the Hostel, now known as The Sill, and get a good view from there. You’ll see the Sycamore gap from the road before you get there and as previously stated you’ll be riding beside the wall later on. I rode that section just last week in glorious weather which is a bit un...

c2c2c - Hadrians wall
Together with 4 others I will be cycling the coast 2 coast and return, Workington / Tynemouth / Workington 10th to 14th June. Our return journey takes us by Hadrains Wall. We would like to stop for a short time at a couple of places to view the wall, but being on road bikes we are not sure of the be...

Re: Is it just us, or do other groups find it difficult to get responses?
I was fortunate enough to ride with our club three times as a guest some 3 years ago to see if group riding was suitable for my needs. At that time I believe that CTC allowed insurance for such potential joiners. I didnt want to spend some £25 on joining to find that it wasn't what I wanted. Therefo...

Re: Le Jog newbie seeking route and accommodation advice
I've seen Manchester and Glasgow as places to avoid I did LEJOG last year with 3 others and rather than avoid Glasgow we cycled through it on a very well signposted cycleway. Hardly touched any roads at all and in fact it was one of the most enjoyable sections of the whole route. Stopped at a Motor...
