SOLD: Vintage Geliano road frame
I volunteer for a charity run bike project providing bikes to asylum seekers and refugees, and we regularly receive donations from the local community. Occasionally we sell what we can't use in the project, and the funds go towards maintaining the bikes that we give out.
We've been given this vintage frame and wonder if anyone is interested in restoring it? There is some surface rust so I've uploaded a few photos
SOLD
Measurements:
Top tube 54cm
Seat tube c-t 54cm
Head tube 11.3cm
Spacing 100/126 (f/r)

A vigilante is one who bypasses the authorities and takes the law into their own hands and administers their own punishments.
I agree with that. I'm sure that if any road user had to seriously consider, before doing something reckless or dangerous, that their actions might be recorded, they might think twice about it. If he's having success in terms of dangerous drivers being punished for driving offences because of his camera recordings, then good on him.
However, I think he may be going a bit far by standing in the road, thus forcing a car to stop; as happened on the two clips I watched. Would there be any circumstance where he might find the excuse given by an apparently desperate driver reasonable? Why not just ensure that the car registration is in the clip along with the alleged misdemeanor, and then send the clip to the police? It seems to me that it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt as a result of his confrontational style. Having said that, I thought the cool and calm manner he displayed on the clips I watched was pretty impressive!

Haha.
Not me though, just one free spirited individual from YT that we are lucky to share the planet with. He does however make the point rather well...

Great line. Permission to use it?
Except it isn't true. On either count. But don't let facts get in the way of a great line.
Prisoners have no legal right to exercise. They have a legal right to 30 minutes per day in the open air, subject to weather conditions. At present, much of this is suspended because there are insufficient staff to guard them.
You and I do not normally need a legal right to exercise because we can do what we want for as long as we want and as often as we want. Currently we have limited outside exercise for very good reasons. But we can stay outside 24/7 if we have a garden, or exercise indoors as much as we want.
But, as I say, don't let facts get on the way of a good line.
Indeed, though my response was only semi-serious. We are currently restricted and for very good reasons as you say. I am in no doubt as to the seriousness of the current situation. My point is that maintaining physical and mental fitness right now is a priority. Indoor exercise alone, I would suggest, is unlikely to be sufficient for maintaining health. Gardens are great if you have one. I use a bicycle outdoors over limited time and distance as suggested by our government and most interactions with others out performing their choice of exercise has been fine. On a couple of occasions it hasn't been, and I've described the most significant incident.
Thanks for the information regarding exercise rights in prison. I'll be sure not to refer to it in any future encounters with anyone who isn't able to respect my right to be out on my bike!

Re: Nasty bit of abuse
I can understand that people are frightened. There is a lack of clarity cycling for exercise under lockdown and there is anecdotal evidence that non cyclists are angry about cyclists who they perceive to be taking the micturate. I've been shocked to read some of the attitudes to cyclists from otherwise respectable professionals on a different forum that I take part in. It's all a bit unsettling.
I'm keeping away from the brilliant shared path which links my village to town because I expect that the usual occasional bit of anti cyclist stuff that I experience there is likely to be worse now. Having said that, I expect that if using the path as a pedestrian, I'd be uncomfortable to be passed close by a sweating and panting cyclist on a narrow path. I've made the decision to avoid it completely for these reasons. Given that I used the path mostly for shopping by bike, this is not a major problem since we are shopping by car as infrequently as possible now.
We have helmet cams which we bought a few years ago and haven't really used much, and I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to start using them again?

The virus is transmitted pretty easily through the air, both as larger droplets and a finer aerosol. It can also survive for a long time on various surfaces and can be transmitted by hand to the nose, mouth or eyes where a ridiculously low number of virions is required to gain entry and give you covid-19. The evidence for people being able to transmit the virus without knowing that they have it is available.
This isn't about being Mary Whitehouse. It's as simple as this:
If you spit in public you could be transmitting the virus, so stop it!

One night I was waiting behind a car at traffic lights, the lights changed and the car in front of me sounded his horn at the car in front of him as it wasn't moving off. A big black chap got out, went up to the drivers door, smashed the window, shouted "don't f**k with the jellyman" and stabbed him in the neck. Murdered him. I've never forgotten it.
So just ride on and forget it.
Wise words

I have submitted the incident online to the police. There were other cyclists out yesterday too so if there was more trouble at least my report might possibly help support others...

Errr, what was he doing driving about during a lockdown then? He had a good reason to be out in his car?
Exactly. No supermarkets nearby, a rural area. He had a local accent so he could have been going to/coming back from town. He was pretty enraged too - my first impression was "vigilante"
