Re: Mudguards for holeless fork
I used a 1in fork expander plug, the central bolt has an internal thread,
so install the expander plug in the bottom of the fork, then bolt thru the mudguard into the botton
of the steerer tube. Found the plug in the LBS back room, so many bits
and bobs, fun to scrounge around.

I bought one these about 15 years ago, I did change the washer a few years ago.

The Leznye head is quite good at removing presta cores,
I don't know it has any other uses.

Re: Would you still buy a bike with rim brakes?
Stick with a name brand carbon frame, Shimano electronic shifting and hydro discs, if you want to be able to sell in the future.
Make sure all possible bits are Shimano, frame is Trek, Cannondale or Specialized. Have a large stock of the proprietary bits
like stem spacers and the bits for the seat wedge, they disappear from production quickly.
The punters won't buy anything lesser.

The British have one called the All Rounder or the New All Rounder.
Bikes are like clothes, they should fit and be fit for different purposes.

Re: Geared fixed wheels. SA?
The Sturmey TF, 2 speed fixed, direct drive and -25%,
could be fitted with a freewheel too.
Less complex, and way less lash than the ASC.

The HMRC has been know to audit people who buy Silca frame pumps,
they're probably living of ill gotten gains.

Re: Chain Length Formula For Bicycles with Rear Derailleur
Make the chain long enough that you don't rip the rear derailer off,
if you go big front+big rear at the same time.
More of rule of thumb instead of a formula.
