Re: first milestone ride hadfield to holmfirth as well as leigh-manc... and back again.

The Trans Pennine Trail runs up parallel to Woodhead Pass not Snake Pass. actually that doesn't sound so far fetched, woodhead, like the reservoir it runs along  i'll have to edit that. great post though thanks. i am a regular cyclist, i'm just used to spreading the elevation out, with lots o...

Re: That rare thing the silent bicycle

my freehub is really quiet. to be honest it helps to make a bit of a noise so people know you're there. i'd hate to hear mine, but the fact that they're so trendy has probably saved me a lot of effort.

first milestone ride hadfield to holmfirth as well as leigh-manc... and back again.

hi, i'm posting this out of excitement mainly, i do have a few questions, but i'm mainly posting this because none of my friends cycle, and so far i've been losing them at "ride". i've been planning my first long ride that would probably have seasoned tourers scoffing, but it's a bit of a ...

Re: Why is it always an Audi

audi is german for fast car slow driver I believe Audi comes from Horch, the person who started the firm, Horch: hear, audio : hear Or it could be "audax" for bravery and courage  Or it could mean: Auto Union Deutschland Industrie it definitely isn't "fast car slow driver"...

Re: Tim Farron resigns

a muslim would be under the same scrutiny, after farron at least. it's one of those weird ones where the right probably has a point, tim farron can't be the only influential figure to be against homosexuality on religious grounds. there's conservative islam, and there's conservatives too. i haven't ...

Re: Help..

Ok so I was googling at the same time as writing this thread and got the same answer you all gave. It is literally just loose so I've tightened with my fingers for the second and have ordered the right tool to tighten it! sweet good luck with the event! if you have to ride before the tool arrives, ...

Re: Help..

looks like they just forgot to put the lock ring back on properly, nothing looks damaged, just undone. easy to fix if you've got the tools, specific lock ring tool, adjustable spanner and chain whip. a little harder if you have to improvise. (chisel, hammer, and a mate to hold the chain, don't recom...

Re: Close call on camera

yeah i cycle through clayton vale a lot and there's this little gap in the bushes, with a post that has a little black square on it. one of these days i'm going to have a look, and i'm gonna end up like this guy.

glad he's ok, hope it didn't put him off either.
