You may need a CTC End to End Pack . . .
http://www.ctc.org.uk/DesktopDefault.aspx?TabID=3397
There are alternatives though. Get googling.

Hi Mick F
I asked Yannick not to publicise "the Return of the Boards" last friday.
This was to avoid everyone piling back in at the same time.
Although the phpbb software is very robust and I have ever confidence in the overall setup, I thought it better to avoid an immediate stress test as we only went live on friday.

Si wrote:Something that might help is if you changed the text "You have no new messages" to something like "no new messages" as this box seems to resize to fit the text on one line and this is the longest line of text.
This implies that the text is not wrapping on your screen.
What O/s, Browser, screen setting are you using ??

Marc, I see what you mean. ( I have to admit that I had never noticed that control before ).
It would be nice if there was a facility on the individual user profiles permitting the global control the sequence of posts within topics.
I had a search through phpbb MODS, but could not find anything on the first pass.
No sign of such a facility in the soon-to-be-released version phpbb v3 either.
I'll let Admin/Anthony/Fonant make a judgement about moving the control.

If you click on your profile - ( over there on the left ) - you will see that your username is presented in a form that cannot be changed.
This message board software enforces unique usernames. It also has full administrator & moderator facilities, so that we can keep things running nicely.
All in all a BIG step forwards.
Cheers

I wonder . . why did it take so long to get the boards up and running again
So do I
But Christmas Eve/Day was especially fun for me as I stayed up until 1:30 a.m. finally getting the old posts to load into the new database.
Let's just say that the old board software was several bricks short of a load on the data integrity side.
Best Wishes

Hi Napier,
Upon reading your post my first though was that the bicycle was "not fit for purpose" and with this claim you might be able to encourage the shop to effect the required repairs. However, you also express a lack of confidence in their willingness and ability to sort things out to your satisfaction.
You have to decide what outcome you really want from the situation. At one extreme you may decide you want a refund and that you are willing to follow through the Small Claims procedure in court.
On the other hand you may just decide to put it down to experience and resolve problems at your own cost.
Only you can judge . . potential hassle versus rewards of winning. etc.
In your position I would try to find an unattrative, second-hand bicycle ( that might have some quite reasonable quality components. ) Then reconcile yourself to the possibility/probability that it might be stolen anyway.
Best of Luck
