Is it possible to buy a Boris bike?

Just a silly curiosity. If someone wanted to buy a Boris bike (or whatever those London public bikes are called), is there anywhere that sells them?
I would imagine such bikes are quite robust if somewhat heavy.

Re: Speeding Penalties in Switzerland

The vast majority of drivers speed. If driving is stressful due to the possibility of getting caught speeding, there is a simple solution. Don't speed. An interesting thread. Here in Bristol there's a 20mph limit on most roads in the city, but hardly anyone observes it. I've just made a three mile ...

Re: Speeding Penalties in Switzerland

Regardless of how harsh the sentencing guidelines are there needs to be i) Someone to enforce it and ii) A willingness by judges and magistrates to apply the sentences. In this country the chances of getting caught speeding or using a mobile phone whilst driving are very low , which is why surveys ...

Re: Residents parking

I find it strange that planners approve development with no off-street parking as it means the public purse then effectively has to provide the parking (on-road). And the cost of making road parking is much higher (on the public purse) than it would be for the developer (lost profit) as the build c...

Re: Who are the best/worst drivers on the road?

I think most lorry drivers are excellent. Many times I'll have one patiently waiting behind until it's safe to pass, and when they do they give me a very wide pass. Could teach other drivers a thing or two. (However in France I had a number of very close passes by lorries where I almost got sucked ...

Re: Cars overtaking and then slowing down.

On the contrary, I have issues when people speed up while I am overtaking on my motorbike. Usually accelerating away onto a motorway, or from a dual carriageway roundabout, I start overtaking. As I reach cruising speed I find the car I have overtaken has speeded up before I complete the overtake. I...

Re: Want to buy a bike

Recumbents would need a 0 on the end of your budget, so you're looking at the lower end of uprights. Decathlon is an excellent place to start, but you need to establish what you want to do on the bike and thus what sort of bike you want. Woulda thought recumbents would be cheaper, weird! Anyway Im ...

Recumbent or normal type bike

What advantages are there to the different types? I very rarely see recumbents, are they mostly for people with restricted movements or something? They look fun tho.
