Tights?
I wore tights over my shirts for comfort and warmth in Scotland.

Small pack a wet wipes.

Can be used as panic paper or mechanical clean up!

Re: LeJog on the NCN | Leaving in September | Is there ANYTHING else that I should know?

Sounds fantastic. If I were doing it again I would do in a month rather than a week and stop at every pub / cafe possible! I really found the NCN network useful especially up towards loch Lomond. Btw the route to the avonmouth bridge is closed at the moment if taking ncn26 - need to go via the housi...

Re: Old British Eagle frame with speckled rusty bits

A respray would be best

But if funds don't allow a respray, then some very fine wet and dry paper to remove the rust spots. Then a can of clear lacquer to seal the frame again.

Re: GBduro

Yes he rode away from on the rest.

Would love to do it if it's not too gravelly?

Would great to be in the bunch competitive but comradeship a bit like the 3 peaks race.

I have a CX bike but might be tempted by a gravel bike!

Re: Record attempt scheduled

What was the difference in teeth of the two cogs?
Do you think you could have done it without the rear mech Mick?
On just 3 speeds?

Fair play for doing it on a chopper!

Re: Train to Penzance won't take bike trailer - how else?

I used these guys to deliver a package that I didn't have a label for.
They were beyond helpful.
It was 20kg and they were much cheaper than parcel force.

https://parcelbiz.co.uk/

They might have a depot they use down country

Might be with a try.

Anyone know anything about GBduro? Next summer end of June. 4 segments I guess to Bristol, Chester, Glasgow and jog? What is the cut off for the sectors 24hrs? What is the rest period? Looks like 50/50 on road / off road. Starts 27th June by the looks of it. https://youtu.be/e74xncSCoqw Cheers James

Cornish Rivera prob uses older stock 125 or 225.

I stayed at cohort hostel at St Ives which I rekon would be really helpful and would receive and pallets / parcels. You can get off at Hale and ride the 4 miles.

Even better pick up the trailer and panniers at Mick's and drop off the kids for a nice relaxing week in Cornwall.

Do you know anyone with a van who might drive you there?

Re: Record attempt scheduled

Mick F I think you have landed the job of official lejog record keeper! Shall I send my receipts in! GBR has become all about selling books to kids rather than actual records and is nothing like the book I remember it to be. Also on the theme of publications is there a magazine for cycle touring? Re: Casual t-shirts?

If you were to buy a pack of 3 polo shirts you could then use the 3rd to make the pockets and extra length at the back on the other two?

Just need to find a freindly sewer to do the alterations.

Just a thought.
