Re: Does a Giant OD2 fork fit the older TCR frames that came with OD?

No I very much doubt it?

Why do you doubt the condition of your current forks?

I have 3 bikes with second hand carbon girls haven't had any issues.

If cracks are present in the carbon they yes do replace but if not why bother?

Re: Entry Level v More advanced bike

Giant propel ticks the boxes for a tri complete with aero wheels. https://www.cyclesurgery.com/p/giant-propel-advanced-2-2019-Q2315231.html?channable=e75528.MjM4MzQzXzEyNA&colour=124&gclid=CjwKCAiAx_DwBRAfEiwA3vwZYoyIfwrHYQ9n8NKdULqM4Sa-O4ipNfRvuE801DjboiW2SdB3Wzhs4hoCBbQQAvD_BwE Great value...

Re: Entry Level v More advanced bike

Rode 40 miles a week ago on new (to me) focus izalco bike. 15.1 avg Did it again yesterday same course on old Cannondale six 15.6 AVG in stronger winds I don't think the new bike makes much difference tbh. If aero is wanted than a giant propel are hard to beat value wise. Or secondhand a Boardman ai...

Re: JOGLE for a fit novice

I'm sure you can do it. 1) don't go fully loaded for camping that really will slow you down. I used bike packing bags as opposed to pannier which I think are faster.. :? :? 2) Eat well make sure you have plenty of food and rest regularly. Break the days ride down into 25 mile rides and break for a d...

Re: Rain damaged Brooks saddle.

I think some dark brown shoe polish would sort.

I cannot see how rain should damage a well waxed saddle?

It should just run off?

One think that I wouldn't do is put it in a warm dry room which made it very hard and uncomfortable.

Re: Hotels at motorway services: removal of access to non-motorway traffic?

Probably to stop in authorized exit from motorways by criminal elements.

Motorway services still need local access for staff, deliveries, emergencies etc.

Probably just a barrier with fob.

Just walk round it and book in, cannot see travel lodge fussed how you got there.

Re: I've been thinking of LEJOG all wrong

Did 8 day lejog last June. If I were to do it again I would take 2+ weeks stopping as and when you want to sight seeing and taking photos rather than constantly thinking I need to press on. You only really need to book 1st night in Cornwall and then you can book each night at lunch time. The last ni...

Re: Corrosion to BB on 2011 carbon Supersix

Hi It wouldn't put me off buying it if the price was right. - say £300. My supersix has a bit of corrosion on the bb face. I haven't had a problem with the bb30 till I greased it before lejog and it started squeeking. But has since quietened down. I have some new bearing which I should fit sometime....

The 4 person ones are heavy having ridden one in Spain.

10mph tops and uphill or on gravel forget it.

Usually the chaingear and steering is knackered too!

Re: chain wear; another spot on the graph?

I find that my bike chain hardly wears at all but that's probably because I don't ride it half enough! My chum always complaining about his commuter bike being knackered, I often turn my hearing aid off! A turbo bike his a chain in ideal conditions the opposite to a commuter bike in fact. Cheers James

I'm same height as you and I would go for a larger frame as I like a bit of stretch, but best to try before you buy if possible.

Re: Stuck seat posts, industrial service?

Possibly but my go to spa leather saddle is just about worn in over several 1000 miles and I have several rolls turbo saddles too which are a similar height. As for shoes my Shimano spd shoes are as tough as old boots, I'd love to change them for a newer racier pair of shoes but they do the job!! Ch...
