I have them on my new(ish) bike and they're good but no better than the QRs on my other bikes.

assuming the carbon post is heavy enough (i.e. not too thin walled) would a thin hard plastic sheeth between the post and clamp which stops the clamp creating a stressor and spreads the clamping force not be a solution here?

Dont think that's a stetched link, it's the space in the removable link to allow it to be disconnected.
It looks like the inside of the removable has snapped as it's hanging down on the inside.

Buy a new removable link and plop it in and see how you get on. They're speed and manufacturere specific, e.g. 9 speed Shimano or 10 speed Campag. I wouldn't ride it will the link is replaced.

You might need a new chain but a master/removable link should get you back on the road.

They do some funky designs but if you're going for the plain styles why not go for Rapha?

I followed Brucey's advice to fit a chainset spacer and this seemed to work a treat.
I ordered two sets, 1.2mm and .6mm. The 1.2mm was too much as I couldn't get the FD to shift up. I then fitted .6mm and the FD works and on the road the small/small now works almost silently.

I checked the inner chaingring and it was on correctly (pity that would have been a nice easy fix so thanks gregoryoftours).
I was thinking about the mention up thread about trimming with bar ends. When I first obtained the bike (it was 2nd hand) it didn't do this and it only started when I tweaked the gears, which improved shifting across the entire range. Before this tweaking I suspect the FD, was ever so slightly, was stopping the chain clipping on the ramps by deflecting it and now I've tweaked the FD it's not doing this.
I've checked and I can leave it untrimmed and it assists in keeping the chain in check, I'm going for a quick ride and tomorrow so will see what it's like.

All that said Im not completely set on using S/S it's more I'm niggled that I introduced it and would prefer, if I can, to remove it.

Everything seems to match, front FD6500, rear RD6500, chain is PC-991 (which claims to be 8 and 9 speed compatible), cranks FC-R600, chainrings SG-X 9s/10S (50 - 34) and shifters R6501.
I like Brucey's idea of spacers, if tomorrow's test run doesn't sound great, I'll order 2 sets, .6mm and 1.2mm.

It looks like the inner is mounted incorrectly as all the writing is facing inwards.
I'll flip it over and see if it resolves.

I dont understand the comments about the bar end shifter as once I've shifted (and trimmed if required) the chain isn't touching the FD, how would a different shifter help?

Thanks guys for the input, I'll do some measuring and see if anything jumps out but it's sounding like hitting the ramps in 2nd and smallest cog is expected.
I think the group all matches, it's a compact road double on audax bike.
I'll check the chainring are mounted corerctly.

I wnoder if folks can offer some advice please.

I have a 9 speed double setup and when in the small at the front and from about the 3rd smallest) to the smallest at the back my chain hits the ramps on the outer chain ring.

I know small/small is not advisable but I should be still able to use it without it hitting the ramps shouldn't I?

In case it helps, it's 135mm oln rear hub and the cranks are HT2 cranks so I can't fiddle too much with the chainline.
I could put a spacer between the DS cup and the BB shell?

Any advice welcome.

I think some of these apps can send an alert on movement detection and you could also record.

You'd need connectivity either via data allowance or wireless.
