Re: Losing tools.

Where do all the allen keys go? Is there a goblin that steals them and melts them down for shipbuilding?

Re: Coroner calls for segregation on A and B Roads

* Sliproads - arrrgghhh. There is a facility that 'helps' cyclists negotiate a motorway sliproad in Ashton-U-Lyne. I'm sure it is useful for anyone not confident enough to cycle past it normally, but the annoying thing, is that its existance is due to bad road design accomodating bad drivers - driv...

Re: RLJ'ers

having legally passed the lights at an ok speed for a bicycle the lights didn't leave enough time before the lights changed to green for the cross traffic. . There's a junction on one of my routes home where i go across a multi-lane A road. I can start off on green and still get the through traffic...

Re: Non-leather women's saddle

Hi, I've been looking for a new saddle as I suffer from (think of polite way to put it!) front pelvic pain. Only happens after about 20 miles although I can feel the excess pressure long before that. I've just bought a Specialized Sonoma Womens saddle. It's got cut outs for relieving pressure and i...

Re: Poetry

Time for the Sunday ride, but always remember the wise words of W. H. Davies WHAT is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?— No time to stand beneath the boughs, And stare as long as sheep and cows: No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass...

Re: Cyclist Insults?

Did dismay me a little as I felt I'd achieved something just for some berk with an underhand comment to swiftly put me down - I couldn't understand why someone would be quite so miffed with someone wearing lycra? Is that a common problem? I don't wear lycra but I don't insult wearers of it. in fact...

Re: Had to avoid an accident THREE times yesterday.

If you were driving - going faster and taking up more room - it would have been harder to avoid the oncoming vehicle. Lucky then that you were on the bike :D

Re: Still Swearing

What do people suggest? I think it's easy enough to paraphrase cyclist/motorist encounters while still conveying the meaning to adult cyclists on the forum. Take mw3230s example:- "In future the hill is terribly terribly irksome and the headwind awfully unkind, to say nothing of the tiresome p...

However, when faced with a turn across traffic & suchlike, when unsure she would pull over & tootle across with pedestrians, rejoin the traffic and catch up in a few hundred yards where we had pulled over & waited. She does aspire to ride with traffic though where she can - the bulk of ...

Re: Coroner calls for segregation on A and B Roads

I'm with esseesee and stoobs on this one, let's rally the troops and reclaim our rightful heritage :D As for speeds, well, I think that cars should be forced to pull over more as they are demonstrably slower than bikes in London. I'm overstating that, a little, of course, but not much. Overstating? ...

Re: Poetry

We read a poem in class each week. The following week you had to write out last week's poem after learning by heart through the week. If you made too many mistakes you had to write it out three times next week. If there were still mistakes the following week you had to recite it aloud in class. . A...
