Re: Wanting to buy a Croix de Fer 30 but unsure if it's a good choice
I bought a CdeF 30 2nd hand from someone on here. I love it. If I could only have one bike it would be this one. It rides really well ,very comfortable. I wouldn’t call the handling dull at all, not as nifty as my carbon road bike but I wouldn’t take that off road ! Mine has hydraulic discs which are good, my wife has a CdeF with cable brakes which stop just as well but have a bit less feel.

Wouldn’t hesitate to have another.

Re: GPS problems
An update : things have improved considerably now I zoom right in to plot routes. Not had any false ‘turn round’ notifications
. Still get the odd misleading junction but as I now trust the gps ( more or less) , I’m soon back on track.
The few times I’ve stopped to check the gps has been correct.
Thanks again for the help.

Re: Looking for SPD Road shoes
I wanted some Spesh Torch, but unfortunately the new ones don’t have two bolt fitting.
Got some Bontrager Circuit for £99.99 at J E James. Nice shoes with boa and Velcro toe strap.

Re: GPS problems
Thanks chaps, I will give your ideas a whirl. I like the idea about way points. I shall be more diligent about checking the route before setting off !

GPS problems
I have a Lezyne macro plus to which I download routes plotted on Komoot.
I have occasional problems with following a route.
Firstly, the gps will tell me to turn round even though I am on the correct route.
Secondly it doesn’t always give a turn direction for a junction, though it quite often gives a turn direction because the road bends !
I don’t know whether these are caused by the gps or by Komoot.
Not a massive problem I know, but it don’t half bug me when I have to keep stopping to check the map

Same here .gazza_d wrote: ↑9 Feb 2022, 7:01pm I have the Teentok, which is now sold under the techalogic brand for about £110
I've been running for a year not and very impressed.
It's reliable and just works. The image quality is as good as my Drift Ghost X.
About a 6 hour battery life.
I like the gopro mount.
The app is a bit pants to be fair and I usually just take the card out and pop into the laptop to check and pull any video.
The light has several flashing modes as well as steady and off.
I would cheerfully buy another one

Re: Colostomy
I had to wear a bag for 10 months after cancer surgery ( I’m re-plumbed now ). Started cycling again after a few months .
I was supplied with a wide belt-like support which covered the bag and supported my abdominal muscles which were compromised by the stoma. I always carried a spare bag and some wipes but never needed them.
No problem cycling other than regaining fitness.
Hope this makes sense and of some use !
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Front Motor and Battery Kit
I bought a kit with bare motor direct from Xiongda, the manufacturer, via aliexpress. It came with compatible controller, display and crank sensor. Cost about £140 . Got a battery from a different supplier off aliexpress, about £100.
Built into a 26” mtb wheel. First wheel build for me , all fairly straightforward, just a bit mindbending working out the spoke lengths.

Re: Rear rack that attaches to axle (for carbon bike without eyelets)
I have a Thule pack n’ pedal. It’s a well made bit of kit. Seems sturdy enough when fitted, though I never got to use it. Bought it to do c2c on my carbon road bike but never managed it due to life intruding .

I’m with LV , no problem with adding ebikes. Have used Pedalcover before. Only changed because LV were cheaper for what I need.
