Perhaps it is no longer a good seller?

Re: Does anyone have car doors 1.5m wide?????

Have there been any cases of motorists throwing fully open their car doors as they pass a cyclist? The likelihood a motorist or more likely the passenger opening the door fully while in motion is probably very small. There was a very non PC joke on this subject: Priest/Pastor says to redneck driver...

Go to Cycleblaze.

This author has had a number of rides in that area.

Re: On the road inflator for fat tyres

We run 26 X 1.75 on our Thorn tandem and on our last two two week tours we punctured once each time.

The Zephal HPX #4 got the tyres back up to 50psi but it took a lot of pump strokes.

As others have said they are quite large volume tyres.

Re: Have my legs got longer?

I will be 76 next month and have lost muscle mass including my gluteus maximus aka my buttock. I found myself moving right to the back of my saddle to maintain my pedalling power and have raised my saddle about 10mm or just less than half an inch in the old money. Know I know what was causing it! Mike

Suggestion for next time:

Start the tour with new pads; and

Carry spares.

Re: Bike pump

I have for years used a frame fit pump and (as a pump) it is brilliant. But I can't leave it on the bike and expect it still to be there when I come back, cheers I still have Zephal HPX #4 pumps, on our Thorn tandem along the bottom tube where Thorn fitted a pump peg, old timers would remember thes...

I am surprised that nobody has extolled the benefits of those gas cartridge thingies, not that I favour them!

Re: Tyre size poll

Our Thorn Tandem has 26 X 1.75 or 44 X 559

My Thorn Mercury has 34 X 622.

BTW the 622 rim comes in a narrow version for road bikes (incorrectly referred to as 700C) and still 622 mm diameter but much wider for the so called 29.5 MTB version!

If I transferred by internet two grand to your bank account, and a week later you transferred two grand plus a eight quid to me, it would indeed be extortionate and clinical. This transaction looks like about 21% per annum. My credit card provider, a major bank here in Australia charges 20.4% on pu...

Re: The History and Features of the Dawes Gnat

Good to see bikes like this still in use.

Here in Oz whenever we have a heavy rubbish collection you see numerous department store kiddies bike thrown out.
Of course they have nylon bearings etc and are not really designed for ongoing maintenance.

Re: Can anyone help fix Bikehike.co.uk? Is there an alternative?

Google no longer provides a free service to mapping sites. The CrazyGuy on a bike site has decided to move away from Google maps because Google were proposing to charge him in excess of US$1,000 per month which amounts to about 25% of his annual donation income. Have a look at Ride with GPS which ha...
