Re: Interchangeable battery?

It won't work, bosch systems use CANbus comm's between components. Any part of that system not having the protocols which speak to each other means no go.

Re: bafang spares

One obvious place to look is the drive side cover on the final drive, clean out if need be and repack with aeroshell 22 or equivalent grease.

https://greentechebikes.com/ This is the UK dealer now that John aka Cycleezee has retired. Battery wise you can use any generic replacement, just make sure polarity is correct. If you want to have it re-celled then contact Jimmy at ebikebatteries.co.uk for details , collection and delivery is arran...

Re: Replacement for Bosch Powerpack battery

Re- celling of bosch or any other CANbus type is only poss if the BMS is functional and the battery charges, the BMS during re- celling is kept live to prevent it bricking rendering the battery useless. Bosch and the others etc are expensive to replace or to buy another. I personally stick to diy bu...

Re: Electric Throttles

Any decent controller kits or ebikes will have separate PAS and throttle input, so no throttle should pose no issue.
Simply disconnect the throttle at the controller then test ride to make sure all is well, rhen you can remove throttle altogether when happy.

Re: All those choices!

Brother wants a MTB for some fairly serious off road use. Stuff transmission wear, it will be cheaper than his motorcycles. What he wants is something that gives him Chris Hoys legs without thinkjng about it. What he hasn't realised is that it will be crap on tbe gravel as he'll have to pedal a hea...

Re: Help & advice on folding e-bikes including the Ezego EZE Fold please

Have a look at the Onebot s6 folding bike at sub £600 or two at £519 each, the UK Mirider bike uses the exact same generic designed frame but charge a hefty £1300.

Re: Pop Up Cycle Lanes.

I have stopped using the ones around where I live as they are now treacherous to use, all the leaves, acorns, twigs have collected in them and the general surface of the road is now also covered in sludge from rain and decaying debris. The road sweeper rarely seen can't access them and I don't see t...

Re: All those choices!

Generally agree with most of them.
Rear hub bike wheelie not very likely unless you go illegal with high power hub with higher current and voltage.
Mid drive bike with CAN bus closed system, expensive to repair once any two year warranty has run out.

Re: All those choices!

A mid motor drives thru the chain wheel so the drive in general will wear faster then a hub motor drive. For proper off road use then yes a mid motor is recommended but that doesn't mean one will suit all. I ride off road and use a 700c bike with hub drive and 40mm tyres, it takes me to the South or...

Re: woman freezes to death after falling from bike

How very sad that some one died from a simple fall from a push bike (whether impaired or not), someone was and should have been able to do a bit more after coming across her. As an act of kindness the person should have gone back with someone else as well to stay and aid her whilst an ambulance was ...

Farmer or family influence probably expecting to give Op the brush off/run around hoping it would go away.
Well done for persevering.
