Re: Add-on e-bike conversion kit - Swytch or eBay kit?

Budget at least £450 + for a 48v battery to power those heavy 1kw D/D hubs.

Re: How to find new throttle

Can you show a pic of the bike & throttle a there is more then one free spirit ebike. Does the twist throttle have a display incorporated or voltage led read out ? Depending on which type you have they have different wiring, plain ones just use 3 wires and others 5 or 6. You could replace the it...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

Tbh I don't get all the I hope the bike feels/ride natural like a push bike, an e-bike is an assisted bike so will always have that shove in the back factor which you only get with a push bike with the wind at your back or downhill. The same argument with Torque sensing or Cadence sensing none of th...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

AKM100 is a good little motor but don't try and feed more then 20a or 1000w peak through the hub.
For a PAS sensor look for a BZ10C these are Hollowtech specific ones, ebay, AliExpress and Woosh sell them.

Re: Appeal after pedestrian dies following collision with bicycle in Tower Hamlets

Yes agree, saw this yesterday on a PC news link pretty appalling.
If the bike is legal and not a high powered illegal e bike then any decent person would have stopped at the scene, however like the Dalston guy who had a reason to flee but was nabbed. In that case he was found Not Guilty and was lucky.

Re: Is there a 750w bbshd 25a ?

BBS02 is 25a as is the 500w 36v & BBS01B/ET.
BBSHD is 1000w in 48v or 52v guise.

Re: Reigate Town Pop up cycle lane.

Affluent Reigate, it just won't do to be held up by a cyclist lane whilst driving ones Chelsea through the streets.
Reigate can be unbelievable at times, an old narrow market town with two lanes of traffic with some thinking it is a street circuit.

Reigate Town Pop up cycle lane.

I noticed Friday one has appeared in Reigate Surrey, and temporarily reduces the carriage way on the one way system approaching from the south past the old Priory Junction to single file as one enters the town. Though it causes queues/tail backs in to the town it does reduce the speed of the traffic...

Re: Downs link new sections.

In places the surface is very good, the Northern part is pretty much good to very good to Copsale and my 37/42c's cope well. The exception still being the very loose /course short South wood hilly section after Baynards. At W.G they are regrading the surface back towards Copsale but when the heavy r...

Downs link new sections.

Rode the Downs Link today joining at the Northerly point South of Shalford to Copsale. A new section is open now cutting out the road section around Christ's Hospital, the new section allows you to continue straight on under the road bridge instead of hanging a left to go up and over. The Christ's S...

Re: Front Wheel conversion

The Hollowtech PAS sensor costs about £11 and can be bought separately.
The Woosh hub will still be a 12 x 10 axle.

There are a few light weight hubs for front wheels under 2.1kg Bafang G370 and Aikema have 3 or 4 different ones.

Re: Front Wheel conversion

The hub axle will be 12mm x 10 mm, though some hubs are 14 x 10 but these tend to be the really high powered models. Some steel drops outs are plenty deep enough but be prepared to also file the drop out seat 1.5/2mm deeper and more if you use the anti turn washers other wise you might need to consi...
