Re: Everday cycling hall of fame

Very difficult. Id like to go for someone who demonstrates that the average person can get around by bike without super human fitness or loads of expensive kit, and make cycling part of the average day. Problem is that no one is famous for doing such a thing, even though every utility cyclist in the...

Re: New bike!

I was pleasantly surprised by the bike. They are Raleigh Red or Dead bikes of which we have "acquired" a large number. They work very well as a learn to ride bike for our ladies, having a low crossbar and bottom bracket, and reasonable high bars.

New bike!

I'm lovin' my new ride...the tassels are sooooo cool, it also has a matching handbag that integrates onto the rack! https://scontent-lht6-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/45015583_2107473229569430_6594175585763721216_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent-lht6-1.xx&oh=ebe8c7f73ee6da8557638340620aa79c&...

Re: City centre cycling ban

Vehicular Cyling..... Both roads and infra should be designed for people on bikes not for cyclists. I earn a living from teaching people to ride in traffic yet i do not see this as an answer - only proper infra will solve our problems and get a significant number of peoole on bikes . Thus just beca...

Re: City centre cycling ban

I've been down Friar St loads of times...the bit shown in the photo is a bit of a pinch point....the rest is slightly better and is no worse than many shared use pavements for cycling. My approach would be to use it, but to ride slowly and carefully, use the bell and polite 'excuse-me's, and get off...

Re: Proving I'm me!

Finally I have proved to their satisfaction that I am, indeed, me. Found an old payslip from my work for the University in the summer, and one of those annoying pension letters for a pension policy that has 10p in it as I only worked there for a couple of months.

Re: Ye shall know them by their post-politics careers?

Various posts trimmed or removed, as telling people to get a life or that they have the intellectual capacity of a 12yo is not conducive to constructive debate, and, as has been demonstrated here, will only serve to divert the topic to discussion of each others' (perceived) character flaws. Have a ...

Re: Proving I'm me!

Asking for a utility bill or a bank statement is a very insecure way of proving identity. With a PC and printer you can knock one up in under five minutes. Any number of utility provides have pictures of their bills on the web, easily downloaded and edited. For this particular case it has to be som...

Re: Are These Mudguards Safe

Ive used similar ones....the stay does indeed pull out of the little plastic housing if enough force is applied.....leaving the metal stay pointing up at the rider ready to impale them if they happen to be crashing at the time.

Proving I'm me!

Cor, this is getting to be hard work. I have to prove I am me and live here. They want one of: Utility bill P60 P45 Financial account document Council tax document ..and it must be dated in the last three months. But the utilities are in my wife's name, I've not left a job in the last three months a...

Re: Halfords to sell Bromptons

If Halfords buy out evans as suggested by cycling weekly would they not automatically become agents as are evans

If they do then it will make things interesting round our way as both halfords and Evans have opened brand new stored right next door to each other!
