Giant rapid 1 squeak

So my bike (which is virtually brand new) has developed a rather annoying squeak from the front fork when turning https://youtu.be/5QCCiJ08VxY I’ve tried spraying where the frame and fork meets with lube but no joy?? Anyone advise what to do? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180905/ea6b439986c3415...

Re: Front derailleur help

Yes that’s the bike I have.

Sounds like I would be best just doing a like for like replacement?

Front derailleur help

I need a new front mech for my commuter mtb as it keeps sticking and I’m fed up trying to free it off, but I’m unsure what my options are..... It is a 7x3 speed shimano tourney mech it is a band on and the cable comes down the frame to attach to mech. Do I need to know anything else to get the corre...

Rear mudguard for mtb commuter

Can anyone recommend me a decent rear mudguard for my giant rock mtb please.

Looking to spend up to £20.

I’ve had ones in the past that weren’t up to much. So looking for some recommendations please!

Thanks

Re: Cycle repair kit and bag and advice

I've got the small saddle bag from Decathlon (around £7) and it's large enough to carry... Spare tube Co2 canisters Quick links Tyre levers Bike tool (allen keys etc.) self-adhesive puncture patches I've been fortunate to never have more than one puncture at a time and never see the need to repair ...

Re: Cycle repair kit and bag and advice

Thanks for replies.

I’m pretty well experienced with puncture repairs and general bike repairs.

I’ve always cycled, just not the distances I’m starting to cover lately, hence me never needing a repair kit.

For the bike size. I’m 5ft 9” and I have 2 bikes, both Giants and both frame size Medium.

Cycle repair kit and bag and advice

So I’m a relative newbie to road cycling distances. Today I did my furthest cycle to date on the road (14miles) As I was out I got to thinking I really should get a puncture repair kit and bag. I think it would be attached under the seat? Obviously I’d need to hold,a puncture kit, tube, levers and a p...

Re: Rear wheel recommendations

I figured it wouldn’t be straight forward,a couple nuts either side isn’t difficult!

The wheel even had a decent 7speed shimano free wheel attached. Not bad for a fiver!

Re: Rear wheel recommendations

It is the original cones and axle I only replaced the ball bearings. I managed to pick up a used wheel from my local recyc a bike this avo for £5. So I’ll run that til it breaks! Only difference is it’s not got QR on it but not the end of the world (I don’t want to strip the bearing and fit my qr skew

Re: Rear wheel recommendations

Here’s what’s happened Image

As you can see the inner race has broken off the hub.

I replaced the bearings a few months ago but tbh they haven’t felt “smooth” when turned by hand for a while.

It’s the original wheel.

Bike is about 12years old.

Just a replacement really.

Rear wheel recommendations

So the inner hub race has broken off my rear wheel of my commuter mtb

It’s 26” with QR with a 7 speed screw on freewheel.

Can anyone advise where best to get one.

Not looking for anything fancy, just a replacement QR wheel.

Any links are most appreciated!

2x10 chain ring wear

My giant rapid1 bike has done about 200 miles since new. Whilst cleaning tonight I was inspecting the chain rings. The smaller ring is perfect however on the larger ring there are some significant differences in the teeth for so little mileage. Is this normal. It is a FSA Omega 50/34t chain ring htt...

Opinions on this bike please

4 weeks into my new bike and I’m so impressed with it. Really gotten used to how it rides. It’s so light compared to anything I’ve ever ridden before,it rolls so smoothly, gear changes are lightning quick and accurate, brakes are really powerful. I’ve even gotten used to the saddle! I took the mudguar...
