Re: Anyone done a LEJOG using cycletravel

A mixture of weather so far, still, it's Britain, isn't it? :P
If I ever do this again - I might if I'm on the right stuff  I will not rent a bike as I have this time with the biggest gear at the back being a 26, but bring my own which has a 34 on the back.

Re: Anyone done a LEJOG using cycletravel

Cornwall/Devon will be inevitably bumpy but nothing too horrendous

Day One of our Peake Tour LeJog - still going on - Lands End to Plymouth, was 108 miles with just under 9,000 feet of climbing. Horrendous enough for me.

Re: LeJog on the NCN | Leaving in September | Is there ANYTHING else that I should know?

, my useless sense of direction was saved by soon being able to ask a passer-by which way Sale was. So I turned around

Best of luck with this OP. I'm planning to do the same next year

Re: 2020 Audax LeJog

I know this is the LeJog forum, but if one wanted to undertake an AudaxUK event that is well organised, (unlike Inverness 1200) well run, well supported and has the advantage of being out-and-back, this is the one to do: https://londonedinburghlondon.com/

Re: 2020 Audax LeJog

My advice if he tries to put this on is to stay away, that way you will not have given him money and then been disappointed - and be out of pocket.

Meet the party at the end of week one with spares,

Conversely, you could do the whole thing in the week. :P

Re: James's 8 day lejog 28th June - 7th July.

James, I am considering doing JogLe self contained next year - as you know, I am doing Lejog starting in two weeks with Peake Tours - and I wonder if you would mind PMing me with the overall cost it took for your 'do-it-yourself trip? I have worked out that staying in guest houses and some B&B's...

My right thigh/knee has imploded

Oh, no! Stretching, Ibuprofin, massage, anything help? Maybe a day resting and then go again?

Re: Record attempt scheduled

Great effort though, no doubt she will be back to tick this particular box.

Here is another great effort today - and success in this case - by a woman. https://www.bbc.com/sport/cycling/49248126

Re: Record attempt scheduled

Mmm, I wonder how fast she goes.

In the bike races I stage, the current (male) record for the 515 mile race is a shade under 26 hours, and the female record for the 24 Hour race is 464 miles, how do you think she would stack up against that?

Re: Record attempt scheduled

She wasn’t fast I reckon I could have held her wheel

As in, drafting behind her? :o
