Re: Whaley Bridge diversion

Obviously not me, but wouldn't it be great if someone with local knowledge could meet Plumby and guide him around this mess?

Re: 2020 Audax LeJog

I do think the choice Andy makes which route to use will determine for many whether it is worth doing for the sake of an Audax

After Andy's disastrous lack of organisational skills for the Inverness 1200, I doubt very much if he will be foolish enough to put this one on.

Re: Oldest Women Cycled End To End

I often wonder about this incessant need to extol the particular exploits of the: 'oldest, youngest, fattist, thinnest', etc. on almost every endeavour these days.

Re: 7 day route

I have no doubt you are right, but two things: Peake Tours that I will be traveling with go over bridges, and two, I really have to get over and defeat these phobias. For the second reason, that is why I forced myself walked over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and the Brooklyn Bridge in Ne...

Re: 7 day route

I don't mind bridges, although, actually, I have some difficulty crossing those that are not concreted in such that one cannot see anything below, but they are a challenge that I always consider I have to meet and defeat. I am looking with trepidation to the Forth Bridge however.

Re: plumby's JOGLE

Excuse me if I'm wrong about this, but wouldn't the authorities be expected to provide detour signs around the Whaley Bridge area to get travellers back on track? If so, wouldn't Plumby expect to be able to just follow the signs rather than look at all the ingenious options suggested?

Don't go over the Severn Bridge and Wye Valley.

Re: plumby's JOGLE

No excuse for not keeping us updated during the day :) Don't forget the photos. Okay, a question. Does one have to have an app on the phone to access this forum and does anyone use an Android to access the internet? :?: Over here (US) I usually send email or texts from my phone but always use the d...

Re: 7 day route

I will echo that keeping moving is essential if you are to meet your distance goals. Even riding ten miles an hour is taking you further than sitting on your bum noshing in a store.

Re: 7 day route

Saddles are too much of a personal thing for anyone to recommend one over another. You just have to keep trying different ones until you find the one that doesn't hurt so much - and despite what anyone tells you, they all hurt until the bum says, "Okay, I give up" and stops whining.

Re: LeJog on the NCN | Leaving in September | Is there ANYTHING else that I should know?

Same in Sportives - so many riders blindly following arrows without any idea of where they are, where they've been, possible escape routes etc. I had to respond to this because yesterday there was a charity ride (sportive) around here and I was doing one of my Audax rides and came across some of th...

Re: Record attempt scheduled

The tracking map appears to show the M6, but either way not for the faint of heart or the solo unsupported rider I think.

I don't do Twitter so unable to see the photos.
