Re: Wall Map for planning LEJOG

I have the Michelin one on my wall slightly more than a yard square - about 39" x 39". It's good enough.

Re: Accomodation booked, one last look at route?

Nope, south to north, so hopefully favourable winds. I'm renting a bike for this trip from the tour organiser - Peake - so maybe they will insist on giving me a lock to use. 8) I should ride a bike that costs no more than 300 quid. Adding up my stable of bikes I come up with about 10,000 pounds when...

Re: Another route

It's okay, I'm having one of those moments. Clearly the cue sheet is saying what is shown on the road signs - mileage to those towns/villages, it isn't said that at all on the sheet, but that must be what they mean.

Another route

I'm not going to say which route this is part of but it is the one I'm taking in a few weeks and wondered if those used to Cornwall's roads could explain what these numbers mean - ie, Carvolt 1 1/4 and Troon 3, etc.? 22.6 Just before the school go L to Carvolth 1¼ & Troon 3. 24.0 When you meet a...

Re: Accomodation booked, one last look at route?

A question I need to ask is how are all of the riders coping with leaving their bikes outside shops and cafes? Any problems?

Re: Accomodation booked, one last look at route?

About 1,040 miles? The long way round?

Nice bike, heavy tyres though I would have thought.

Re: John's LEJOG 2019 route

Sorry to be another to hijack the thread, but all this talk of riding the coast road reminds me that hiking the SW Coast Trail is on my radar for one day soon.

Re: James's 8 day lejog 28th June - 7th July.

Super job James, well done, and about taking more time to see stuff? That's how I see it. Being so long out of Britain I want to enjoy the passage as much as the arrival. Six more weeks. :D By the way; I managed to get the taxi fare from Thurso to Inverness down to 170 pounds, so with the saving by ...

Re: Another route suggestion post (sorry)

Here's a question for all those who regularly travel by train; why is the cost of the 9:40 train leaving Inverness 70 pounds to London whilst every other train leaving after that time is 175 pounds? Is this steep cost increase after the first train leaves usual with British trains?
