Thanks for catchin' dis guy... I hope the Police go to town on him..
(1) overtakin' on a double white
(2) overtakin' with on coming traffic
(3) failin' to give required passing space to a fellow road user.

Personally I fink I might have needed a new pair of underpants after that one.. or a very good lawyer, if I'd caught up with him.. Mr Reasonable might not have been at home.
Overtaking/crossing a double white line is legal, Rule 129 - Double white lines where the line nearest you is solid. This means you MUST NOT cross or straddle it unless it is safe and you need to enter adjoining premises or a side road. You may cross the line if necessary, provided the road is clear, to pass a stationary vehicle, or overtake a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle, if they are travelling at 10 mph (16 km/h) or less.

Re: Mayo - or salad cream…?

simonineaston wrote: 25 Jun 2024, 9:43am I vaguely recall when Hellmann’s mayonnaise began to get a significant market share here in the UK. Middle class families like mine had always been a bit sniffy about salad cream and food writers like Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson had sown the seed that real mayonnaise was the dividing line between U and non-U - at least at the dinner table.
These days, when the negative aspects of processed food form the basis of books and articles everywhere you look! it’s easy to dismiss both products as factory-made and inferior, but this recipe for making salad cream at home reminds us of exactly what a faff it was.

So, dear reader, what is your preference - mayo or salad cream and do you take either with you when out cycling, either in a sarnie, or else in the form of plastic sachets, to add to your bijoux picnic?
I thought that recipe is quite simple.

Re: assaulted whilst being overtaken

Something's not right there. No criminal would ever get convicted if the police said 'sorry we can't do anything, he denied it, despite there being evidence ".

My bike was packed in a CTC bag, and I had to remove the front wheel to pack it small enough to be accepted by oversize luggage. I think I left the skewer in the dropout to protect the forks but it somehow went missing during the flight.

Had to get a taxi to the Decathlon in Mulhouse to buy a new QR skewer: cost 80eur but at least it rescued the holiday
Should that be €8 ?

Re: When you wera a IGHJ VIZ vest that states

It could be because that case went to court and the reports I made didn't.
I don't think me persisting will get me anywhere. They have their legal advice about data protection and are unlikely to move from that in my say so, and quite honestly, I 'm not that bothered. I made the report and action was taken, that will do for me and I will move in.

You need to ask
They won't tell me. South Wales Police say "Please note that we are unable to tell you the exact outcome, or what action may have been taken, in order to comply with the Data Protection Act 1988 and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Perhaps they were charged... :)
Maybe, but positive action could be anything from a warning letter, through points and a fine to being charged and a court appearance.

Re: Halfords

I use them in the following way.
Check item is in stock locally and check price.
Download discount voucher from CUK (other sources are available)
Go to store and purchase item.
Occasionally the in store price is more than the online price. When this happens I show them the online price and they match it, but won't give any more discount.
