Re: Should you have lights on during the day?

I come from a country where they reckon even in daylight having lights on can make a vehicle 1000x more visible. They believe in this statistic so much so that it is illegal to sell a car which does not automatically turn the headlights on as soon as the ignition is turned on. If importing a car, a ...

Re: How to hillstart on a steep lane

Let the 4X4 make angry noises behind you. They chose to get up your back side rather than wait ( either at the bottom or even apply the hand brake ) for you to crest the hill.

Or grab onto the back of it as it passes you

Re: New model or old faithful?

You have already invested in making old faithful better suited to you. I’m with everyone else. Get it serviced. Some upgrades to look at would be keeping the braking surface on your wheels clean followed by better brake pads. Some better tyres. A better bike won’t make YOU better. You want to improv...

Re: Roof carrier

How small is your car that you need to put a FOLDING bike on the roof?
And it’s a folding bike. Slap it in a roof box. With extra cargo space to spare.

On a serious note. What vehicle is it? I saw someone else make mention of their polo. But I must have missed the OP’s car

Re: Poor service at Evans

I've had a couple of problems with items purchased from Evans. In each case they have told me that they have to return the item to the supplier to determine if it is a warranty claim rather than refund the money to me straight away or replace the item out of stock. I didn't view this as a very sati...

Re: Returning to cycling > turbo trainer advice

I am struggling to read past your saying “neither of these this is true it’s in [your] head “ Of course I don’t know how serious this vertigo is. Wether it’s constant or comes on unexpected or instant. Scout out your area for a public Bridal way. Then get your mountain bike out. And just take it eas...

Re: Do newspapers use Clickbait on purpose?

I always said that if bicycles cant adhere to the speed limit then they shouldn’t be using the road. Did you mean adhere as in not exceed the posted limit? or were you talking about travelling at the limit, ie: doing 30 in a 30? If the latter that seems an odd stance to take given that it’s not alw...

Re: Do newspapers do this on purpose?

I've been 'done' twice. Once was coming off the motorway family late at night, along a good road. The policeman stepped out into the road and I had plenty of time to stop - it took me a while to register that he had just stopped in the middle of the road rather than crossing, and I still had plenty...
