Re: Helmet maximum safety protection risk assesment/compensation 2021
1. Sweat build-up and fogging of the visor: cyclists are making more effort and sweat than motorbikers. 2. Weight Also, for a cyclist, hearing what vehicles around you are doing is important. And I don't see how the peripheral vision could be helped by full-face. Those all contribute to my decision...

Re: Helmet maximum safety protection risk assesment/compensation 2021
Also, you're opening up discussions of how effective helmets actually are. Yes. The odds on this thread remaining constructive and polite can't be great from previous experiences. Sticking to the specific question asked is probably a good idea. Jonathan PS: From a previous thread I came to the conc...

Naonobodies are fascinating, both as to why camelids have them and similar animals don't and as reagents.

But I'd be very wary of relying on that novel assay system making much difference in the near future.

Re: Jihadi Brides and their Children.
The excessive powers of Ministers and the associated lack of transparency and accountability are one of the UK's biggest constitutional problems. That would be true even with a Home Secretary who was honest, wise, knowledgeable and competent. Withdrawal of citizenship, banning entry to citizens, and...

Do you think you could find anywhere better with more humane policies and kindness towards the poorest?l If that's a question about labour market state benefits rather than anything else... yes: Denmark, Spain and France. https://www.glassdoor.com/research/app/uploads/sites/2/2016/02/GD_FairestPaid...

Re: I don't like living in England....
Are primroses uniquely English? I think not, lots of Spanish bluebells will appear in a month or two and bushes like rhodedendrons etc are from Asia. Our Victorian plant hunters were a busy lot. However all these things make our land what it is. They're not uniquely English, but they weren't delibe...

You're not alone. There's some recent discussion in another thread but it degenerated in the familiar fashion. IIUC it's a transfer of an APMS contract. https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/publications/gp-funding-and-contracts-explained But... you go first... what are your concerns, please? Jonathan

There's also no indication in Appendix 3 that the researchers did that level of drilling. I suggest that you ask them directly. TTBOMK there isn't any special advice on rubbing for any of the vaccines.

Unfortunately, I suspect that in about July the UK public will realise that they'll need some form of certificate to go on Holiday, and our wonderfully competent Government will panic, ask one of their mates to design something bespoke that will be ready in late September (albeit not fully working)...

Re: A place to record lenient sentencing for motorvehicle....
It seems to be the thinking that "short" sentences don't really help. That's based on pretty good evidence in the UK. For custodial sentences up to six months it's cheaper to use alternatives and they result in less subsequent reoffending. It's probably also true up to twelve months. On t...
