Re: York rally
I was a bit disappointed myself. Maybe they're focusing their resources elsewhere this year? There have been some murmurs about it online, but nothing official.

Re: CYCLING has saved the NHS £11,000
Keep it up! You're setting a tremendous example for your son and anyone else looking to improve their health and well-being. And hey, maybe one day you can graduate to a sailboat and experience the thrill of wind in your hair and spray in your face. There's a certain freedom and peace that comes with harnessing the power of the wind to explore the water!

Re: Inguinal hernia - choices?
A bit late reply, but I'd like to add that whatever you do, don't put hernia mesh implants.
Many hernia mesh manufacturers have faced lawsuits (see here) over the years due to allegations that their products use substandard materials or designs that can lead to serious complications for patients. These complications may include chronic pain, infections, and even the need for additional surgeries to correct issues caused by the mesh.

Personally, I'm a mayonnaise convert. While Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson may have championed it for posh dinners, it's become a delicious and versatile staple

Have you tried contacting them through a different channel, like secure messaging within their platform or a physical letter? They might be able to verify your identity through an alternative method.

Re: Would you still buy a bike with rim brakes?
Looks great from this angle, I can see why someone would go out of the way to "reallocate" this bike hahaBice wrote: ↑20 Jun 2024, 11:40amSo, true. This is my £27 bike, and I would be mortified to lose it. (I am worried about it having some retro appeal, that our fine city's criminal community might pick up on):

Even the 27 quid bike can ruin my day if it gets stolen, nevermind going out with my precious one. Good point you brought

Re: Best SIM card for long tour abroad
You are correct, it is not easy but what good thing comes with an easy process of getting it? If a company initially resists changing your 2FA number, be polite but persistent. Explain the situation and reference the GDPR if applicablePsamathe wrote: ↑18 Jun 2024, 12:16pmI think it depends on the company/organisation sending the 2FA code. I had to change my mobile number earlier this year and one company who uses 2FA is refusing to change to the new number and they've now had the letter "unless you comply with UK government GDPR Legislation Article (5)(1)(d) by close of business 19 June we will be moving to legal action.
Another company (a financial company) was cooperating but it was only earlier today they called me on my new number and verified my details and changed the number (they had to book a date/time to make the call).
Not always an easy process.

Re: D-Day bicycles
I bet your son will grow to become a great photographer if you encourage him to go this way, did you know you can make shared albums on Google Photos then share the link to that album so anyone can see your photos? A neat featureal_yrpal wrote: ↑19 Jun 2024, 8:42amWhen I used to go abroad I always looked out for bikes, particularly load carriers and usually photographed them. The ingenuity of people in the 3rd world is amazing.
Like many people all my photos are accessible on my mobile via Google Photos, and these days its my mobile's camera that adds to them. Recently gave my SLR and all the kit to my son who is a keen photographer.

The fact that you've kept this in your device and remembered it so you posted it on here, how cool is that. *chef's kiss*al_yrpal wrote: ↑10 Jun 2024, 5:02pmIn the museum in Hanoi when we visited a few years ago....Mike Sales wrote: ↑9 Jun 2024, 5:32pmI understand they pushed the bikes, loaded with materiel. Re: Would you still buy a bike with rim brakes?
To reply to the thread post, I would still buy a bike with rim brakes, yes. BUT I wouldn't make that my daily, I'll treat it like car people buy a 500$ car and just use it until it gives out on it's own.

Never mind the trousers, I'd not buy anything from that!
In fact, I'd go back and delete the link altogether and forget about this thread.
