Re: 105's - Getting More Granny Gearing
The chainset, you need to check whether its has a BCD 90mm. then you can use a 30t inner ring from the FSA adventurer range. Also fitting a 11 speed SRAM cass 11-36 with further enhance lower gearing. I used to have a twin setup 44/28 and upto 11-40 cass, but changed it to triple Di2 Deore 48/36/26 ...

Re: Conversion V Complete e bike in terms of range
I would look into a Bafang or Tongsheng TSDZ2 kits, go for the 48V motor/controller. You can get the kits with custom firmware to enhance range by being able to add 52V battery. £800 for a 400Wh battery, that is alot. I bought a 700Wh battery for £280 You just need a bike with a 68/73 threaded botto...

Re: Alfine 2019 SG-S7051-11
I bought my R785 shifters from German website. They were much cheaper than UK suppliers. The only downside was they came as a complete lever caliper assy. Being European, the brakes are cable up reverse to UK for brakes-no big deal swapping over, I needed to shorten hydraulic pipes any way. Just che...

Re: Alfine 2019 SG-S7051-11
I cant comment on the Alfine 11- Brucey on here seems very knowledgeable on IGH designs and faults. I too have a Day 10, in single speed, but I did upgrade my levers to hydraulic Di2 versions in anticipation of one day using an Alfine 11 Di2. I have the same levers on my other bike, so in an emergen...

Re: IGH lubrication; a smoking gun.
Wife rode to pub tonight. Only once did gears fail to shift, but soon as she eased power click next gear. The noise was much less on this one occasion. I gave the area a good dose of SFG you mentioned. I will let the bike have few hundred more miles and strip the hub again to inspect if grease has c...

Re: IGH lubrication; a smoking gun.
Success The first little ride after stripping down the new Nexus hub and lubrication with Penrite Semi Fluid Grease. Much improved shifting, no clicking whilst it decides to change gear. The Nexus 8 needs a little lift in pedal power to allow changes to up in gear, but I know this is a design featur...

Re: IGH lubrication; a smoking gun.
Talking of cleaning the internal hub. I had planned to stick mine in an ultrasound bath with petrol or some other degreaser. Let it evaporate and airline to force dry difficult area
Are there any reasons not to do this?

Re: IGH lubrication; a smoking gun.
This is what my C6001-8D Nexus Inter 8 hub looks like after less than 200 miles from new. I clean upped some of the grease, it was still smooth, but not alot of it. I split the hub and wiped and brushed Penrite semi fluid grease into all the gears, bearings, shifts pawls. I did the same on the outer...

Re: Bought Elite smart turbo trainer but can't connect to anything
If its the one for £96 from Halfords- it really isnt a 'Smart' turbo. To connect to Zwift- I connect via Ant+ for all sensors and turbo with a PC. Have you created a Zwift account and arrange payment? Three sensors are cadence, HR and Power will give you a basic experience. A variable resistance lik...

Re: Disc frame touring build..or just go buy a bike?
Are these hydraulic brakes or cable?
I'm afraid to say cable disc brakes are poor at best. On the other hand hydraulic disc brakes are fantastic in all weathers.

Re: Audax Bike (Spa?) with Tourer Gearing & Double vs. Triple
I have a Kinesis Tripster V2 ATR with a a triple crankset 48/36/26. I use XTR triple Di2 front derailleur with Di2 hydraulic road shifters. Its great all-rounder for touring, climbing mountains I use a 11-32 cassette for general riding and a 11-40 cassette for mountains. gear inch range 18"-115...

Re: E bike conversion
There is alot of bluff going on with power numbers and speed limits. 250 Watts is bandied around, but no one says whether this is peak or constant power capability. A lot of these motors are capable of way more in power terms Speed again is varied, 25kph (15.6 mph) but quite a few bikes easily go ab...

Re: E bike conversion
Im not concerned, the figures are arbitrary in my opinion.
its not used for bombing along at 20+ mph. The battery and settings are for range, so my wife can do a nice ride and feel assured that there will be enough battery to get her back home.
