ive used a BG (body geometry.....im not sure if that has links with Specialized) saddle for the last few years but recently its caused a few problems
time for a change i think

you can try fish oil ( not cod liver oil ) tablets which help keep your joints in good nick! Boots sell em

i used them when i had knee pain and they helped a little

those types of bikes are pretty heavy! its made from steel and a friend had something similar to that model...

an aluminium MTB bike doesnt have to be expensive...if you look locally im sure you could pick up a cheap second-hand one for near enough 100quid

just for the record- i PUT ON weight on the LEJOG despite doing 70mile days

its amazing how far you have to cycle before the tyre gets punctured. part of my commute is country lanes and through a busy town where every so often i pick up glass but the tyres have a supposedly 'anti-puncture' bead in them - but it doesnt prevent punctures it just prolongs the time it takes for...

i personally use a light lube like GT85 ... every so often i might just splodge a little bit of oil down there

i can only get it this high though by going running - ive never had it that high thro cycling

if you go into any running shop - they sell light arm bands.
i have one but personally dont use it as its not as effective as a fixed bike light

when i used to cycle down country lanes - they'd occassionally have the hounds out on the road as a big pack! but there wasnt any problems most of the lads leading the dogs were on bikes themselves and were fully able to control the dogs! was a great sight to see and i personally think its great tha...
