Re: Trump's response to Meryl Streep's speech....

As I am not a psychiatrist I will take your word on that. :)

For me, the larger takeaway from the Professor's letter was not to be tempted to diagnose at a distance. Also I agree with him that the reason why Trump is following a course of action is far less interesting than the action itself.

Re: Trump's response to Meryl Streep's speech....

Interesting of note is that the disorder is more common on males. He [Professor Allen Frances] also warns that it is common for many adolescents to display the characteristics listed above but says “this does not indicate that they will later develop narcissistic personality disorder”. So how would...

Re: "You never had it so good!"

The report is here: http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/economics/research/centres/cage/news/20-01-17-understanding_happiness/ I don't think it's pseudoscience but the methodologies they have used can probably be critiqued. Some initial thoughts (as I've only had 10 minutes to skim it). As the report ...

Uk Population as those registered to vote. Stats available online i suspect .... It's called maths ..... :)...

Re: Stay away from France

A bit of a non-story as it's unlikely to be a problem if you've had the flu jab, which protects against A/H3N2.

You've all got the flu jab, right?

Re: Ten golden rules for visiting France's Languedoc region

It's a good list, although a lot of the rules are pretty universal to any place tourists might go. Of the rules that are actually about the Langedoc region; 1. 100% agree with September as the best month for weather, Late September-October is nice too and has the visual advantage that the vines turn...

Re: Europe-wide Route Maps -

Just a few suggestions... - For a general overview of local, national & long distance cycle routes: https://www.opencyclemap.org/ - For route planning: cycle.travel - Sites that specialise in .gpx files of cycle routes: http://www.biroto.eu/en/ is one example. I'm sure I've seen another one but ...

Posted with permission from former CTC COUNCILLOR IIRC you are a former CTC Councillor which makes that statement a little confusing. I think you are allowed to say his name, after all he's not Lord Voldermort  . FWIW, Tom Riddle did say he didn't write this on the corresponding YACF thread.

Re: Best files for Garmin

I have a Garmin Edge Touring. In that I use an 8GB SD card. Does anyone have an idea what that means as far as storage capacity goes? I load any convoluted routes whilst on tour, a couple of routes out into the Mendips I am still memorising and this year I plan 1 Audax a month. If the routes are go...

Re: Two Threads culled in two days

There are some decent folks on here and it's a shame people are being put off by a small minority. Sure they are allowed their point of view despite the fact those views are extreme, however their delivery is often crass, without wisdom and points seem to be 'won' by sniping. I would say that there...

No it didn't.

He misunderstood it.

It sounds like you're insinuating that the Leave voter wasn't very bright. I thought that kind of behaviour was something that only Remainers did?

Re: Gender replacement.

Surely using the word person saves the orator having to say "man or woman"? Thats the whole point, when did it become a problem to say man or woman. Who told you it was a problem ? WHY ...!!!!!!!!!!!! You are making a vast leap in assuming that it's a problem to the majority of society. I...
