I bought a Wittkop Medicus saddle from Lidl about, 2 years ago for £8, very comfortable, worth keeping a eye out for their specials.Jamesh wrote: ↑13 Apr 2021, 12:40pm Have a look at wittkop saddles.
I've looked at them a few times in stores and the look quite comfy.
Beware others will be along to say you just need to get toughened up and gel saddles aren't the answer but as one who has struggled with saddles getting one that is comfortable now is a challenge.
Cheers James

Re: Hot food on rides...
Nez, sure you won't be disappointed but use a windshield. If you look at the YouTube ultralighters in the USA they all carry them on the longest trails. Had mine for a while but because of Covid I have not tried it anywhere but the garden, but tests are good

By the way, all knowledgeable backpackers invert cans if using remote stoves when the need arises. Over 45 years experience in hillwalking has taught me a lot.

Liquid fuel stove, titanium windshield, titanium folding spork, Bic mini lighter and a fire steel fit inside Alpkit Titanium 650m pot. Bioethanol goes in 100m bottle. If using gas for day trip BRS3000T stove and 100g gas can fit in same pot.

Re: Hot food on rides...
Never had a problem with a part used gas canister, if using my Primus Express Spider I just invert the can so business as usual. With regard to meths stoves i don't mind waiting for 10 mins to boil 400ml of water, i can be doing other things while waiting. Then there is the weight aspect to consider, so nothing is a waste of time IMHO

Tyres
I am looking at Schwalbe Land Cruiser 700x35 tyres for my hybrid bike and wanted to know what others thought of them. I've been running on Marathon Plus for a few years but now retired and have to watch the pennies. Hoping to do a few short tours this year, mostly quite roads & footpaths. Any thoughts please.

Re: hot cup of tea
If you're a newby to AliExpress just ignore the delivery times, the longest I've waited is 12 days. Recently ordered a titanium windshield and got it in 9 days.

Re: hot cup of tea
Another suggestion is the BRS3000T stove on AliExpress at 25g and around £10. There are knockoffs on the site but the genuine one comes in a green bag and has the name on the stove. If you're only making a brew this is brilliant, just make yourself a foil windshield and you've got the lightest setup around.

Alpkit do a copy of the Jetboil, the reviews are good and a lot cheaper.

Same here, cashews, chopped walnuts, dried fruit & dark choc chips, even at home every day.
