Has anybody come across this one before,
Replacing a T A Carmina inner/granny chainring I found that I stripped one thread on the spider.
I noticed that other members have had the same problems and I am in touch with T A who have admitted a fault with the securing bolts being too short.
Thay have asked me to return the offending item to them in France and they will replace it.(Don't see why I shoud have to pay for the return but that is by the bye)
Checking out the bolts/spider I found that the bolt threads on all of them are quite loose at the start of screwing the bolts in, improving the further they were tightened, Question, are they tapered threads or are they badly manufactured from the word go.
I tightened the bolts on the spider opposites and did not over tighten them so I have not stretched the threads.
Last request, Did T A make a chainset (Not ring) model Zepher and are they still in production.
Yours very disapointed,
Regards Tom

Re: Chain Links
Thanks for the debate folks, Still stick to one inner plus outer = one link but as mentioned it is erelavelant in this instance as as mentioned it seems that the 112 links are quoted are the number of rivets.
Thanks all

Chain Links
Can someone out there in the blue yonder explain to me how the lengh of chains are determined.
Example Just purchased new Ten speed chain with 112 links does this mean 112 rivets or links, as the link to me has always been one inner and one outer link therefore 3 rivets = 1" in length
Thanks
Tom

Brooks B17 Saddle
My Brooks saddle approx 6 months old has needed a lot of adjustment to the tension bolt to stop the nose bracket moving from side to side when rotating the pedals on a ride, should I be less generouse with the proof hide or what?
It seems that the leather will keep on stretching until no more adjustement on the bolt.

Brooks Saddle/Mod to work stand
Thanks folks,
Item one
I have been told that brooks saddles have moved abroad,
Item two
Parker accessory seem a little much if you have to take seat stem out.
I am thinking on the line of a second clamp of a shorter length then a length of tube to clamp the existing one to it
Thanks for all your advice

Brooks saddle
Can anybody advise me please,
Item one,
is the Brooks Champion Flyer available in the Uk.
Item two,
the work stand I have, the jaws are to long to accomodate fixing to the seat stem, I don't wish to damage the tube paintwork or the decals, any ideas of a mod

Someone has asked me what are my thoughts on a Dahon Speed D7 folding bike. This bike can only be bought on the Internet or as he found out at certain shows at say the N E C Birmingham.
As I don't know of this bike has anybody heard of them, got one, and what is there opinion please.
The company Web page is the foldingbikehut.co.uk the model mentioned retails at £ 249.99.

Does any experienced hands out there know how to stop a bike having a mind of its own and sliding down a wall or turning and falling down while rotating backwards. I have tried a cloths peg on my rapid fire shimano deore to no avail.
Also when fitting a chain while trying to fit a master link while holding the chain together with both hands.
