Front Mech
Hallo me again,
Fitted to my Thorn Sherpa I have Shimano SLX- 660 Front Mech and Cassett rapid fire changers, when changing from middle ring to high ring due to starting with I think arthritis I am finding things difficult, due to the distance travelled by the thump lever from middle to high on chain ring
It seems the Norm /Design the distance of travel between clicks, I have on my other bike XT Rapid fire changers are easier to use.i have upgraded front and rear mechs from the older Shimano LX changers but I dont think that is an issue ,
Advice please

Coventry eagle upgrade
I have been upgrading my daughters ladies Coventry Eagle cycle, have almost finished quite pleased with it, except that it has developed a squeak when peddling every revolution of the cranks, just hoping that i am onto the correct track, when I stand on the pedals while peddling it goes away, Me thinks it the seat causing it.
If not, looking onward to the bottom bracket, although it is a square taper axle(adjustable) it looks longer than the modern sealed axles also the frame threads area seems longer than the 68 mm on modern Frames .
Appreciate comments please,
RegardsTom

Re: hexagonal allen keys
Thank you all for your comments,
The reason I posted my inquiry was that I bought the tool for setting the bearings on the Shimano pedal PD M324 tool no TL-PD33 the Hexagonal adjusting screw at the end of the tool for some reason is 7 mm.
Regards to you all

Specialized Sirus Pro front chainset
Afternoon all,
A Cycling friend called round to see me today with problem concerning a Specialized Sirus Pro carbon cycle, the original person had from new an upgrade regards to lowering the gearing.
The cycle is approx 3 year old and as far as I knew were fitted with Sram transmission throughout.
This bike is fitted with Shimano Deore XT front and rear mechs, I did not note the rapid lever make, I think the make must be Shimano to match the mechs, double chainset, 10 speed cassette.
The double chainset rapid change lever is made to fit a triple,ie two clicks, and seems to be adjusted with inner lever all ready in position, second click nothing third click outer ring.
Any advice please.
