Hall all,
Can anyone out there assist me please,
Going for a run I go to History on the start menu and progress down to odometer 1/2 and say select odometer one then progress to select, all goes well, at the end of the ride go to odometer one total ride ok total time ok Total distance ok.
Problem, or is it me being confused, if I go to Odometer two I find that i have a repeat of Odometer One,my idea was to record first bike odometer one second Bike Odometer two IE odometer two should be still on zero?
Regards Tom

securing shimano bottom bracket
Good evening all,
Having to day replaced my triple chain set, and bottom bracket, UN 55 sealed bearing.
When securing the sealed bearings using a torque wrench to attain correct torque I found that due to the socket adaptor needed to secure the special tool that tightens the bearings into position the special tool was difficult to keep straight while trying trying to get 35-50 n.meters.
Is there any tricks or any way to keep the silly tool straight while putting tension onto the the bearing unit

seized cranks
Good evening all,
I have been assisting a friend of mine to try and remove a crank set off his winter bike, this bike is 15 years old,
Starting to remove the 8 mm Allan headed outer bolt had great difficulty to remove it, next was to remove the crank off the axle (Axle Square tapered)
Shimano sealed unit.
Screwed in the crank extractor fully could not budge it, it was so bad that the thread stripped in the alloy crank.
Could it be that the crank had been on the axle so long that the old adage of steel to alloy had reacted I think it is called electrolysis, now we are in the situation, any ideas on how to proceed in this problem, thinking on the drive side of be the chain set could be the same?
With the bottom bracket fitted to a 15 year old bike, would the length of the axle and the bottom bracket still be ok to replace

transmission noise
Hallo yet again,
Thorn Sherpa.
Still looking for a a mysterious noise I think is coming from my transmission every rotation of the cranks, I have replaced/checked all I can think of,including replacing my bottom bracket bearings Shimano UN 54 square axle type I've checked, replaced front mech Shimano 9 speed XT the sound is like the chain is slightly catching the front mech as the crank rotates once, have double checked this, on my bike stand no prob even tried the old dodge of applying rear brake slightly to rotate the the crank under pressure nothing doing, tried another seat my seat Brooks, tried plastic one, checked chain rings for tightness, rings no buckle on any of them
All seems ok until I go for a ride and put pressure on pedals Just ordinary pressure,
Forgot to say I bought a new frame from Thorn Cycles and have been rebuilding it, could the Bottom Bracket that I bought be slightly to long or short causing slight chain problems.
Yours at a loss Tom

creaking noise
Hi all,
During the last week due to the corona virus situation I have been carrying out a project on a Thorn Sherpa cycle,I have been transferring components onto a new Sherpa frame,
On completion took it out on its test ride, adjustment needed to transmission, took it out this morning and straight away noticed a creaking noise coming below seat to transmission level every one rotation of the cranks, took it back home and have been through all things I can think of that can cause this symptom. just to say the this creaking was not there yesterday
Symptom checks including
Check the transmission settings again twice, noticed that on free wheeling no creaking, all gear changing the creak returned when peddling ,it doesn't sound like a metal creak problem.
I have similar problems in the past cycling shoes, brooks seat, frame, etc.
The thing is that it was not there yesterday.
The creak does frustrate as you can imagine, cant seem to nail it, maybe somebody out in the forum has had a similar situation,
Keep safe Tom
